Just like the cameos in both Kate's and Valerie's stories. I've done so in some of mine as well. Go ahead and do it! ;)Jessica E. I agree, until my beta reader asked me if I was ever going to finish Xaviera's and Nate's story, I just assumed they would take it day by day and be happy - in other words live their lives. But I guess I can understand - some peeps are hopeless romantics or need to have the happily ever after complete with a wedding ring. But the fact is I like the way my story ended. It was hopeful - looking forward to the future.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by Barbara

Dakota Dakota Tracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09934734062430171887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4732851852122255721.post-43416062068342896532012-12-10T15:31:05.856-05:002012-12-10T15:31:05.856-05:00Very true. And it is fun to see other characters from previous books show up...even if they aren't by the same author. That's probably why I like the 1NS series so much. Perhaps Xaviera and Nate will make an appearance in my next 1NS story I'm writing. Hope to have it submitted after Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by Taryn!

DakotaDakota Tracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09934734062430171887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4732851852122255721.post-91183467868220712412012-12-10T15:27:00.079-05:002012-12-10T15:27:00.079-05:00Yep, it does seem once the readers connect with a ...Yep, it does seem once the readers connect with a character or set of them, they want more - even with full length HEA books. So it's no surprise when they ask for it with a short HFN story.

Thanks for stopping by Louisa!

DakotaDakota Tracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09934734062430171887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4732851852122255721.post-28357652721684673932012-12-10T14:25:42.091-05:002012-12-10T14:25:42.091-05:00Love, love, LOVE this! So glad to see, for example, the ultra suave and sexy Jackson Castillo and Leah from Valerie Mann's To Feel Again make cameo appearances in other books from time to time. Like Mark & Julia from Kate Richards' The Virgin & The Playboy and Shaun and Rachel from Joanne Kenrick's Sweet Irish Kiss. I'm thrilled to see that they're still together, still going strong!Taryn Kincaidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11130206764352777367noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4732851852122255721.post-16869503649469753812012-12-10T12:59:08.176-05:002012-12-10T12:59:08.176-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Dakota Tracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09934734062430171887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4732851852122255721.post-85402343101394038722012-12-10T12:58:08.485-05:002012-12-10T12:58:08.485-05:00Dakota, I love this topic! You're right - it has to be happy for now because there just isn't the time or space to show the future - well mostly. But I rarely have a need to know what happens to characters later. I think I just accept that was their story. I have readers ask me to write followups on mine but I can't. To make a story interesting it needs conflict and so I'd have to drive a wedge in the happiness I'd created, even if I then made everything right again. So no, I don't feel I want to know more. I just needed to know they made it together.Barbara Elsborghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15825994197656747262noreply@blogger.com
