All
my life I’ve been a good little girl. I did as my parents told me. Never got in
any trouble. Didn’t drink, smoke or do drugs. And if you believe any of that I
have a gorgeous shack I could sell you in the swamps.
Why
be good when being bad is so much fun. Right? Life would be so dull if we stuck
to the rules and never did anything outside the norm. Think about it. We might
as well be robots. Life is too short to waste it being good all the time. There
is so much stress in our lives so it’s nice just to throw away all the worries
and have a little fun. You work all day, doing as you’re told, bring in the
money. Or you’re home all day taking care of the kiddies, cleaning the house,
changing poopy diapers and making sure the meal is planned out and ready. You
do this day after day and you start to go a little crazy. Don’t deny it. We’ve
all been there. And that is why its fun to
step out of the professional/good mommy role and do something fun.
But
where to start?
Take
a part time evening job as a stripper. Nothing like throwing caution to the
wind and letting it all hang out.
Run
through the streets naked.
Again,
there is that property in the swamp I can sell you.
Seriously
though. Having fun doesn’t mean being arrested or shaking it all for the world
to see. But doing something different
once and a while is fun too. Join a murder mystery club. Roll play as someone else and live their life
if only for a few hours. Or, pick a different club or coffee shop each week to
try out. Go skinny dipping in the lake
at night when no one else is around. I’ve
heard people say starting a flash mob is a hoot. I’ve never done this but it
sure sounds like fun. That sort of thing. Something different to avoid going
stark raving mad.
My
favourite phrase comes courtesy of the Simpsons.
Homer:
“All work and no play make Homer something something…”
Marge:
“Go crazy?”
Homer.
“Don’t mind if I do.”
Now
you’re probably thinking that I’m all talk and no action. Well here are some
examples of crazy daring things I’ve done in my life.
Flashing
my boobs to passing cars. Mooning people. Walking down the street, beer bottle
in hand, dancing and singing at the top of my lungs despite the cop car up a
head. Making out in an open field.
Now
those are a bit extreme, but they sure were a lot of fun at the time.
In my upcoming release, The Naughty
Angel, I dip into the subject of stepping out of your comfort zone. Ariel Raine
is an Angel looking for a bit of excitement. She knows its taboo to seek sex,
but she’s tired of the same old same old and is willing to deal with the
consequences. Being pared up with a demon is not what she had planned, but she
soon learns being naughty is a hell of a lot more fun than being good.
Have
you ever done anything out of the norm, even something a bit embarrassing? How
did it make you feel? Would you do it
again? Come on, spill the beans. J

us something interesting you’ve done! One lucky commenter will win a copy of

Well being an author of erotic stories was really stepping out for me and my family was NOT pleased. But that's their problem. My mom told me I was a disappointing. Well, I'm 40 and going to write what I want, no matter what anyone thinks! I learned over the last few months to be true to myself.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read this one.

You go girl! Most of my family doesn't approve of my erotic writing. Well that's just fine. There are things they do that I don't approve of either. To each there own.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
I had to visit an Italian Hospital emergency room not speaking a word of Italian. It made for a long, interesting night.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new release. This book sounds intriguing. Can't wait to read it.

Thanks Joanne and what an interesting time that must have been for you.
ReplyDeleteAbout the most interesting thing I've done is going to Carlos and Charlie's Bar and Grill in Cozumel, Mexico and getting drunk on Tequila shots and Coronas and dancing on the tables. Oh, and pile 7 people into a Fiat taxicab and getting back to the cruise ship 5 minutes before they pull the gangway! That was interesting! LOL!

While vacationing in Hawaii, I took a helicopter ride and walked on a volcano!

I went white water rafting! I loved it so much , I did it again! I haven't done it in about 15 years, since the children, but loved it when I did.

when i was younger and had no business even being in the bar i worked as a stripper for a bit. i was 16/17 and a runaway, under an assumed name (same as now). made good money but i was embarrassed that all those old guys wanted to look at and touch me. of course they were all probably in their prime but i was just a kid what did i know. the owner let me work until i had enough for a bus ticket and food for the trip home, then called my mom and drove me to the bus. told me to come back when i was legal. needless to say i did not go back. :)

LOL, that's quite the experiance Susan! Were you hunover or still drunk when you got to the ship?
ReplyDeleteOMG Shelley that is incredible. My husband would be so envious. You're a brave woman.
Hi Mel, I know a lot of people who enjoy white water rafting. Me, I'm terrified of water.
Wow, Tammy, what an incredible story. I imagine though that you use some of that experiance in your novels.
