Today I’m celebrating one year since I signed the contract for Beneath
the Starry Sky, my second release, and only contemporary romance to this point.
And I brought Tamara Johnson, the heroine from BTSS with me.
Welcome, Tamara, to the 1Night Stand blog. Can you
tell us a bit about yourself?
Tamara: Well, I’m a sales representative for a pharmaceutical company.
And…*glances around at her audience* I have Alopecia Areata, which is an autoimmune
disease that results in the loss of hair in patches, or a total loss. *fingers
her short locks* I’m lucky that mine has started to grow back, but there is the
possibility I will lose it again.
Wow, that is certainly a lot to deal with. Why did you
decide to apply to 1Night Stand?
Tamara: My fiancé abandoned me at the alter due to my bald patches.
After that, all my hair fell out. Even wearing an expensive wig, I didn’t think
I could give a man any more than one night. Once he saw my bare head, he would
leave me alone again. 1Night Stand fit my needs, and I didn’t go in expecting
more than one night with the man I was set up with.
So what did
you think of Josh when you first saw him?
Tamara: I thought he was the sexiest man ever, but when he told me he
wasn’t my date and then left, I was extremely disappointed. At that point, I
thought my date had somehow found a picture of me bald, and decided to call off
the date.
But he did come back?
Tamara: Yes, he said he forgot about the one-night stand and thought I
was some crazed fan. The funny thing was, I didn’t even know he was a
television star until he told me. But when he returned to the room, he caught
me with my wig off. I thought he would leave again, just like my fiancé did.
Turns out, he has his own issues and could relate. The rest of our date was one
big whirlwind, a night I will never forget.
I assume things went well then?
Tamara: Yes, very well, and they continue to do so.
Can you tell us your favorite thing about Josh?
Tamara: Other than the fact that he is sexy as sin? He’s a romantic at
heart, and always treats me like I’m the most precious thing in the world.
Well, I wish you two the very best. Thank you for
being here, today.
Tamara: It was my pleasure.
Beneath the Starry Sky Blurb
Left at the altar with bald
patches on her head and her self-confidence stripped away, Tamara Johnson must
pick up the pieces of her life and face her Alopecia Areata, the autoimmune
disease causing her hair to fall out. She is convinced no man will date a bald
woman and arranges a one-night stand through Madame Evangeline’s popular
service, 1Night Stand. With her new wig held firmly in place, Tamara arrives at
the Castillo Hotel in Las Vegas for a night of passion and pleasure.
Anything more than one night would mean exposing her bald head, and she will
never do that to any man again.
Running into the Castillo Hotel,
away from the paparazzi constantly at his heels, Josh Summers wants to spend
his next few days locked away from the flashing lights and screaming fans. When
he finds an incredibly sexy woman lying on his hotel room bed in nothing but
lingerie, he thinks management has made a mistake. Leaving her behind, he heads
for the lobby to get the situation rectified. But an unexpected text from
Madame Evangeline sends him back to his room. Though unsure whether
the woman on the bed is really his perfect match or just another fan believing
him to be like his character on television, he knows he must find out, even if
it means he must risk telling her his own secrets. If Tamara can handle his
imperfections, she just might be his ideal woman.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Taryn! :)
ReplyDeleteLoved this book! Tamara, you're an inspiration to everyone who doesn't fit the "normal" mold. Can't wait to read your further adventures with Josh! The most compromising position I've every been caught in was steamin' it up with hubby out in the hot-tub. Out of the blue our daughter appears and asks "What're you doing?" YIKES! LOL
ReplyDeleteYikes is right! Hopefully she couldn't see over the edge. ;) Thanks, Jenna!

ReplyDeleteCongrats on the anniversary. Unfortunately hubby and I have been caught in compromising positions more than once. We have 3 kids ranging from a teen to a preschooler. They all have different schedules (the teen goes to bed very late and the preschooler wakes up very early). So it doesn't make for too much alone time. Even with the door shut their rooms are too close. The worst was a few months ago when the teen walked into our room after hearing noises (her words, not mine). She now sleeps with her door closed and usually has her iPod on when she hears us walk upstairs. Gotta love kids.

Oh, we automatically sleep with our doors closed, so that we can hear the kids if they get up. Just an extra precaution. Both of ours are still young though. Thanks for visiting, Kelsey! :)
DeleteI loved this book! We haven't been caught in a compromising position because I'm not that adventurous and embarassed easily! Plus we have no kids for that to be an issue either! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Susan! I used to be like that, too. Still somewhat am, but with the kids now, sometimes we just have to go for it when we have the chance. LOL
DeleteThe book sound great.
ReplyDeleteOur compromising position was when we were younger and not married yet. We were at his parents house and his sister walked in on us in bed. Needless to say she always knocks now. lol.
lorimeehan1@aol.com
LOL I would knock, too. Thank you! :)
DeleteUmmmmm, ok but you got to promise not to tell.
ReplyDeleteThis was before I was married so it was a long time ago. My best friend from high school had moved to another city about 45 mins away. Right before school started in out junior year, she was allowed to spend a few weeks at my house. We double dated one Friday night and after a movie all 4 of us decided to go "parking". The road wasn't that far from where I lived, it was a country road and not travelled a lot. We pulled the car over, she was in the back with her boyfriend and I was in the front with mine. Well, we were kissing and stuff, and all of a sudden a flashlight was shining in the driver side window. Then a knock, the windows were steamed up and the person outside said You got 3 minutes to open the window. She was trying to get her shirt zipped up and I couldn't find mine. Then another knock, and Open the door now!!!. It was a cop and he asked for our identification. All I could think about was I was dead when I got home. What was I going to say to
my parents? Since her license said a different city than we were in, the cop called her name in. We waited a little while and were sent home. It seems like there was a missing girl and the cop was checking to see if it was my friend. How embarrassing, to get caught parking by a cop!!!! I won't tell you how much trouble I was in.

LOL Julianne. Let's just say, I'm always afraid of that happening to my DH and I. ;)
DeleteMy boyfriend at the time and I got caught once in the forest preserves having a little fun against a tree. :) And with a little one we once got caught while he was going downtown and I had to tell my little one he was sleeping. Luckily we were under the covers at the time. lol
ReplyDeleteLOL Yes, the covers definitely helped in that situation. Thanks for stopping by, Melanie! :)
DeleteI think being left at the altar is every brides worst nightmare, I know that I was so paranoid I made my then fiance ride to the church with me. :O) Carin
ReplyDeletemawmom(at)gmail(dot)com
Carin, I would have to agree about that one. We had a really small wedding, so we all rode together in the same vehicle.
DeleteThank you everyone for coming to visit me and Tamara!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to lorimeehan who wins her choice of one of my Decadent Publishing titles!
