By J.M. Madden
No, not my
kid. Wet Dream, my 1NS baby.
And it’s
still one of my favorites.
As soon as
I heard about the series, I had an idea. Cameron and Ginger walked into my
brain and I had the hero and heroine. I pounded the manuscript out over about 2
weeks (fast for me) and submitted it. Though I already had Second Time Around with Decadent, I didn’t know if they would want
this one. Didn’t know if it suited the series or not. Luckily, they did want it.
And it did suit the series. Within two
days I had signed my contract. Just a few days after that and I had my cover.
Wet Dream
was number 24 in the series. We’re at around 130 now. Incredible numbers for a
series. But it seems to work. Hopefully the series will continue because I have
an idea for a second Ginger and Cameron story.
A lot has
changed in that year’s time. Wet Dream was my third book. I now have six out. Number
seven is coming out in the next couple of weeks, and number eight –an EDGEseries book titled Love on the Line- will also be out in a few weeks. I have
more on my plate right now that I ever expected to have to worry about, and I
love it. My career is rolling along
faster than I ever expected.
What kind
of big changes have you had in your life over the past year? Anything you wish
you could have left behind?
One
commenter will win a copy of Wet Dream or Second Time Around, your choice.

Well, Tamaria, you may get the chance!
ReplyDeleteHi Jessica! I know, seems like we're always doing more and more, huh?
Congrats on your anniversary and I'm wishing you many more on all of your books...and upcoming books.
ReplyDeleteThanks Starla! And you too as well!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the anniversary and being approved for ONS. I haven't read Wet Dream or Second Time Around yet, but if they are anything like A Needful Heart they are definitely on my 'to read' list. Good luck in all your endeavors and I look forward to enjoying more of your books.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Jolene! I love that you enjoyed A Needful Heart. Second Time Around was my very first book and set in my area, so very close to my heart. Wet Dream is one of my favorites though because it deals with a wounded veteran.
DeleteThey really are like kids. You can't pick a favorite. I hope you win one!

ReplyDeleteCongrats on your one year mark!! I haven't read Wet Dream yet but I can't. Wait I love the ONS series books.

Hales, you better get reading! I know I can't keep up with all the 1NS releases, but I am going to try!
DeleteSteph, welcome! And thank you! I love it too!
Love the title and cover of Wet Dreams! I was published a year ago in May, and I never dreamed at this point in time I would have 11 out and 3 more coming this fall! Congrats to you on your anniversary!
ReplyDelete~Karyn
Wow Karyn! You're kicking butt! If I stay on schedule and get everything out I have planned for this year, I will have 10 out. Although I want to add in a Christmas short if I can eek out the time. Congrats on YOUR accomplishments!

Ladies, thank you so much for stopping by! And for all the congrats! I really could not have done it without Decadent, though, and their phenomenal staff.
DeleteHuge congrats, J.M.! Six books is a huge accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteAs for me, I've written a full length, and a novella. Still waiting for replies. Biting nails.
Kathleen, I wouldn't worry. I'd love to read another of your books!
DeleteCongratulations on your anniversary. It's funny you should ask what has happened in the past year. I used that as my premise for Thursday Thirteen. It's been crazy - everything from 3 bestsellers to losing my dog. Sometimes I wish life would move a little slower and other times, I'm grateful I'm not watching it pass me by. Best wishes on all your upcoming projects.
ReplyDeleteMargie, I see your name everywhere, so you're doing something right! Sorry about your dog, though. Losing a pet is so hard to get over. I lost one 2 years ago, and I still find myself calling her every once in a while- just not even thinking.
DeleteBest wishes to you as well!
Congrats, Jen! It's been an amazing year, I just wrapped up my first full year writing/editng full time and I thought I'd have nothing but time...nope! Busier than Ever. Can't believe it's been a year since your release!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a year my last year has been full of high's and lows but i've learnt that i can do everything i put my mind to
ReplyDeleteAwww, congrats JM, that's fantastic! Hard to believe it's been a year already!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Kali
Kate, honestly, my year wouldn't have been as wonderful without you! You are a kick ass editor!
ReplyDeleteMelissa, yes, you can! Period! Two years ago I never would have imagined I would be where I am now.
Kali, I know! Your career has changed too! I remember meeting you in LA and you were unpubbed and hopeful.
What a great story. Yep, after reading my first 1Night Stand, I was hooked and had to write one, too!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, JM!
ReplyDeleteChanges to my life? Well, son has gone to live in Texas - but the really bad news is he TOOK HIS DOG! I really really miss Winnie. Oh and Greg too.
Louisa, they're addicting, aren't they?
DeleteAh, Barbara, I would go get that dog and bring her back. Then he'd HAVE to come visit you, right?
Happy Birthday or... um... Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteThank you all so very much for commenting! I had my daughter scroll through and pick a name. Congratulations Carin! You can choose either Wet Dream or Second Time Around! I'll email you.
ReplyDeleteAnd, because I got such a great response, I'm going to give away a second download. Congrats to
Tamaria!
I sincerely hope you both love the books as much as I enjoyed writing them!
Thanks, JM! I'll shout it out when I get word!
ReplyDeleteTaking a deep breath and his courage in hand, he asked her, “Can I buy you a coffee?”
ReplyDeleteLOVE this.
