For
most of us, time spent in an elevator is hands-down awkward. Sharing such a
small space—even for a matter of seconds—with a stranger, seems to put most of
us in a guarded, uncomfortable state. Because, let’s face it, we all cherish
our personal space and elevators take it away from you. We give a hello and
step aside, but no one over the age of five enjoys riding elevators. And we all
join in on the automatic staring at the digital counter until we arrive at our
designated floor with that triumphant feeling of escape.
In
my 1NightStand story, Hungry for Touch, an elevator happens to be where the
hero and heroine meet…and where the sparks fly hot and fast. Kimber isn’t aware
the stranger is the military man Madame Eve set her up with; Nate has no idea
his arranged date and the woman that smells like sweet sweat and tropical oil
are one in the same. When the elevator malfunctions, that’s when the fun really
begins.
Chemistry-building
banter fires up a sexual tension that results in a kiss that leaves both
burning for more. Though Kimber and Nate both have specific, private reasons
for turning to 1NightStand, it all comes down to something humans all crave:
touch. Don’t miss how fate and Madame made these two world-weary people come
together by purchasing Hungry
for Touch.
Have
you ever been attracted to a stranger in an elevator and wished you’d said
something? Or locked eyes and silently
hoped they would make a move?

No, but it would have been nice! I'm really really picky about the guys I like - course now I'm married, I'm not supposed to like any guys but the one I'm with. I think people go out of their way to avoid eye contact in elevators. Maybe they're worried they would be attracted or that if the thing broke down, they might have to eat the other person to survive ---oops straying off topic.
ReplyDeleteNo fun experiences for me like that. I usually have the kids with me anyway. Oh well... That is why I love to read 1NS. I can live through the characters.

I can't say I've been lucky enough to get into an elevator with someone that I hope would show some interest. Of course most of the time the elevator is full or close too so no one looks at each other. You just want to get out because it's just too close contact! LOL!

I do not recall, so I don't think that I have. I am afraid of elevators. I try to just focus on my breathing and sometimes close my eyes. I am not claustrophobic, but have a fear of falling and I guess I have seen one too many movies with the elevator plummeting to the bottom. Lol.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great sexy story, though! Thank you for the opportunity to read it. :)

There have been plenty of times that I wished I would have said something, but only one time I did. :) It was a great experience!

Nope. If I'm trapped in a box with someone I find attractive, I shriek like a howler monkey and flap my arms like a chicken. If they can't handle all that, they can't handle me.
ReplyDeleteI usually avoid looking at people in the elevator, Lots of strange creepy people in elevators LOL!

LOL! I love reading all of your comments, sounds like kissing strangers in an elevator is strictly the stuff of fiction ;) I remember once when a guy strolled in the elevator wearing a suit and smelled like carnal SIN. lol There just wasn't enough time to for me summon courage to get flirty. 3 seconds is only for the truly brave. haha. I will notify the winner of the free copy of Hungry for Touch tomorrow! Thanks so much for participating, I love writing for 1NS and super appreciate our awesome, dedicated readers.
