What me? Well yes, hands up, I
confess. We have more than our fair share of grey days in the UK so I long for
either blue skies and sunny days or…..drum roll…..snow. I hadn’t realized how
obsessive I was about the weather until I checked my books and registered how
often I set them in either winter. I love snow, except when I have to drive in
it. The slightest flutter from the sky will make the car squeal – or maybe
that’s me. Having once sobbed off and on for two hours as I drove over the
Pennines – the hills that run down the spine of the UK- I avoid driving in snow
if I possibly can. It freaks me out. Our tyres are built to cope with lots of
water, not any amount of the white stuff.
The four books I have with
Decadent are all set in the winter. Three of them feature snow, the other is
set in Orlando, Florida. Not much chance of snow there! But the INS story I
want to talk about is called On the Right Track, which takes place on a snowy
New Year’s Eve. Nick and Hollie’s cars kiss on a snowy road. Fate or the hand
of Madame Eve?
Always
driving through life along the straight and narrow, Hollie wants a break from
staying within the lines. She hopes a hookup at 1NightStand with a tall
fair-haired guy who’s organized and sensible, likes small-breasted brunettes,
and can deal with any crisis life throws at him, will jar her from the mundane
path she’s been on.
Except
what seemed like the perfect plan when she set off, turns into the worst idea
ever as the snow falls thickly. Slipping and sliding, her arms numb from
clenching the wheel, she becomes frantic to avoid what’s looming in front of
her.
Dark-haired
Nick is on his way to a party with hopes of connecting with a busty
blonde—assuming he’s even on the right road and can dig himself out of a heap
of snow before he freezes solid. Too bad he never plans ahead, no coat and no
shovel in the car, and soon he won’t even see a road at all, let alone any
vehicle barrelling down it.
When
two hearts get lost in a snowstorm of what they think they want, can Madame
Eve's magic put them back on the right track?
If you’d like to win a copy of On
the Right Track please leave a comment telling me which season you
prefer.
If you’d like to check out my
other books – there might a few that don’t feature snow!
It's funny how the seasons and weather inspire the muse. Love the new book!!!! Happy Winter!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mary. Happy Winter back to you and if our boiler would stop misbehaving I'd be a lot happier!
DeleteI love Spring. Everything is brand new again.
ReplyDeleteI know I should love spring. The colours are so beautiful then and it's the promise of a summer to come but no - I'm still drawn to snow!
DeleteI love autumn and spring is my second favorite season! lisagk(at)yahoo
ReplyDeleteYou know, something has just occurred to me, Lisa - it all depends on where you live. If I lived in New England and could see those colours I've only seen on TV - maybe I'd love autumn. If I lived in Minnesota - I might not like snow so much! If
