Dear Madame Eve….

By Annie Anthony

I remember the first time I heard of the 1Night Stand series.  A high-end, exclusive dating service focused on meeting the very particular needs of its clients…  I can’t count the times I’ve wished Madame Eve was real. Then I realized, a 1Night Stand could be mine—through my characters at least!
Allie Jordan is a 38-year old single mother of two who didn’t come out until late.  Too late, she’s afraid. For just one night, Allie Jordan doesn’t want to be remorseful ex-wife, stressed mother, and awkward lesbian.
A one night stand—or 1Night Stand—was not something Terra Rossi had ever experienced in real life, let alone something she’d ever thought she’d seek out and pay for.  But after ending her decade-long relationship shortly after her fortieth birthday, Terra decides one night without secrets, without hiding is exactly what she needs.
When Allie and Terra meet, they share chemistry and an emotional connection. But when they open up to one another, the secrets and lies of the past threaten to shatter their tender connection.  Can the past be overcome, or will what Allie and Terra share be no more than one exquisite night?
I have a lot in common with both characters.  Like Allie, I came out later in life—although Allie didn’t have the struggles with it from a young age like I did.  And like Terra, I’m the oldest child who normally puts responsibility and practicality ahead of relationships—and my personal life has taken hits as a result.  While I haven’t lived their stories exactly, I felt inspired to give certain qualities life in these two women.  And of course, to give them a happy ending!
To me, the 1Night Stand series marries fantasy with reality. We all have things that keep us from finding love and fulfillment. And the exotic settings…I had a great time putting Allie and Terra in a cottage in a suburb of my hometown of Chicago, complete with fantasy bathroom and decorative finishes. I normally use inspiration boards to keep me anchored as I write, and I had a great time finding pictures of Allie’s “fuckworthy” bathtub!
Madame Eve may not be real (shhh, I’m still hoping) but check out my fantasy and the rest of the 1Night Stand series and you might just find your own as well!

Sexy Aliens & Sexy Lines

by Jessica E. Subject

Satin Sheets in Space was the first ménage story I wrote. I had a lot of fun with it, not only bringing in another hot alien hero, but also in connecting it to some of my previous 1Night Stand titles. Here are some of my favorite lines from the story...
He’d been told his date would come up past his stomach. There had to be a woman on Earth fitting that description. – Galan is very tall, so this requirement is important to him.
There had to be someplace on Earth, or in the universe, where women over five-foot-six weren’t seen as Amazons. – Danyka is very tall, and is often chastised about her height. Could it be a match?
Next to him, she felt dainty, delicate. Where had he been all her life? – See, a perfect match!
She’d expected a hotel room, a car, at least, not some lane behind the hotel among garbage bins filled with rotting food.
But she had no time to object. He pinned her up against the brick wall with his body, holding her hands above her head.
He kissed her, no, devoured her. He tasted her with his lips, his tongue plunging inside her mouth, beginning an erotic dance. – And their date begins...
She had her eyes closed, her lips pressed against his, when the sensation started. First, a tingling in her hands and feet, as he swept his digits deep inside her. The buzz spread up her arms and legs until it engulfed her entire body. She no longer sensed the ground below her. – Uh-oh! What’s happening to her?
The Prince Charming she’d had the fortune of being set up with peered down at her, his gaze intense and filled with lust. “My name is Galan, and we’re in my spaceship.” – She’s just been abducted by an alien.
The wall—more like a curtain—parted as another male, wearing a thin white pair of lounge pants, sauntered toward her. With the same dark mane, blue-tinged skin, and wide build, he could be a copy of the extraterrestrial that lay on the bed with her. Two alien hunks? – What’s she going to do now?

Erotic Sci-Fi Ménage Romance

Danyka's unusual height and radiant red hair earn her the cold shoulder from any guy she approaches, unless he wants to experiment with a giant. So when her boss sets up on a one night stand, she hopes for a prince but expects the usual toad.
As a captivating stranger whisks her away from the ball and introduces her to his equally gorgeous brother, she fears her fantasies have become a nightmare. Has she finally given into impulse only to become a lab rat in an unknown world?

Fantasies

We all have our little fantasies from time to time. One of my fantasies was taking a cruise. I had wanted to do it for years, but my partner kept telling me after twenty years in the Navy, most of that time spent on ships, not to hold my breath. Six years ago, he finally broke down and took me on a cruise to the Caribbean. It was beautiful. The water was just as blue as you seen in photos.
When I heard about the 1Night Stand call for stories at the Romancing the Capital author/reader conference, I immediately knew which common female fantasy I would write. What woman hasn’t lusted after an actor or model at one point in their life?
It Was Always You is the embodiment of a movie star fantasy for each and every one of us. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I loved writing it.

It Was Always You
After dreaming of him for months, Candy can’t believe the 1Night Stand dating service has found a man fitting the description of her ideal lover. After all, her dream man is no other than A-list actor, Jared Harwell, and since she’ll never have him, she’ll settle for a close match.
Shapeshifter Jared Harwell is ready to call it quits—his acting career and Hollywood lifestyle—if he can find the mate he’s searching for. But, evidently, his perfect mate is only to be found in his nocturnal dreams and the closest he’ll ever get to her is with the help of Madame Eve’s 1Night Stand service. And even then, it’s only one night with a fantasy lookalike.
Will that be enough time for Candy and Jared to realize dreams truly can come true?

Excerpt:
Entering the bedroom, he frowned. It’s too quiet. Had she left?
“Candy?” he whispered. If she expected him, the movie star, she would recognize his voice. He had to remember to speak with a Midwestern accent at a low level and not have his brogue give him away. Not yet, anyway. He said her name softly again.
No answer.
“Candy, are you there?” he asked a bit louder. Had his accent bled through? It didn’t matter. His instructions had probably scared her, and she’d left. Shit!
“Huh, wha…?” The sleep-filled voice came from the bed. “Who’s there?”
“It’s just me, darlin’. Your date for the evening.”
“Why are you whispering?” The sheets rustled. She’d turned off the lights as he’d instructed in his letter. With the curtains drawn, the glow from the city below couldn’t penetrate the darkness. That hadn’t been part of his conditions. Had she’d closed them to even the playing field so he couldn’t see her either?
Standing in the doorway, he breathed in her perfume. The scent of peaches wafted up from the bed and gave him a hard-on from hell. The sweet scent filled his lungs. He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, the lingering scent bringing up sweet memories of his Candy. Still, it didn’t matter. The only thing he gave a damn about—they get along with each other and have the fantasy they wanted.
“Have you changed your mind?” He hoped not, and pictured the lingerie he’d packed in the case for her. Had she put it on, or was she wearing something of her own?
“No, I haven’t changed my mind. I’m wearing the flimsy nightgown you sent for me, aren’t I?” she asked, dryly

Something Wicked This Way Comes…

By: Kali Willows

The time is drawing near and fast! The very first Romancing the Capital Ottawa Romance Convention! It takes place in Ottawa, Canada April 17th & 18th, 2015. Several of Decadent’s authors and staff will be in attendance and I’m one of those crazy authors who will be there!
In honor of this event, Decadent has contracted a few very special 1NS stories with a twist. The stories have to occur at the hotel for Romancing the Capital for the convention. I’m happy to announce, my story: Romancing the Author is one of the lucky books for this sizzling occasion.
Decadent Publishing is hosting afternoon tea as a meet and greet while readers and authors alike have a chance to mix and mingle with some of our finest. Along with a multi-author sponsored Mad Hatter dinner and dance, there is also a 50’s Sock Hop, panels, workshops and a spectacular book fair with 50 registered authors, the good times will be endless.
An event near and dear to my heart is the Author-Reader Speed Dating Extravaganza I am hosting.  With 25 registered authors and a room full of prizes to be won, it promises to be jam packed with fun and excitement while readers get a chance to meet some of their favorites and discover even more.
What is this new, steamy 1NS tale I’m bringing to the Canadian Capital, you ask? It’s my pleasure to introduce my newest 1NS story:

Romancing the Author

~Blurb~
NFL star, Connor Caine, has given up on romance. Starved for a real woman with curves, intellect, and a sharp wit, he exchanges playful messages with an online crush. But when he can’t connect with her, he’s urged to seek out a 1Night Stand while in the Canadian capital for business.
Steamy sex is plentiful for author Gemma Daveen—at least on the pages she writes. Publicized as happily married, she has kept a few well-hidden secrets. But her publicist knows better, and ravenous for sexual reprieve, Gemma soon finds herself booked for a 1Night Stand during a romance convention in Ottawa.

~Excerpt~
Connor: Do you wear jeans, Gemma?
Gemma: Sure, all the time. They’re 90 percent of my wardrobe, LOL. Why?
Connor: I’ve got a thing for belt loops.
Gemma: What do you mean? And were they crossing a line?
Connor: Have you ever had a guy slip his fingers into the belt loops of your jeans and pull you so close to him, he could taste your lips?
Gemma: No, but I like the sound of that. Had she really typed that?
Conner: Maybe one day, I can pull you by the belt loops.

Three hours flew by and, finally, despite her fascination, her eyelids grew heavy
Connor: I have a confession to make. I’ve bought your books and read them. You’re such a gifted author.
Gemma: You have? Her breath hitched.
Connor: Yes! I can’t get enough of your stories. You’re brilliant.
Gemma: Thank you. A weak response given he had just hit her cerebral G-spot. Conner loved her writing? He’d read her books? Incredible. No longer tired, she held her hands over the keyboard.
Gemma: I…have to come clean with something, too.
Connor: What?
All or nothing.
Gemma: I’m a sapiosexual.
Connor: Come again?
Gemma: A person sexually attracted to the intelligence in others. She held her breath for his response.
Connor: And where do I fit into this orientation of yours?
Butterflies somersaulted in her stomach.
Gemma: Top of the list.

Okay, time for an EXTRA SPECIAL GIVEAWAY!

Fun Facts about the Capital of Canada

by Jessica E. Subject

Hello everyone! Later this month I’ll be traveling to the capital of Canada (Ottawa) for the first Romancing the Capital conference hosted by Eve Langlais. I am also celebrating the release of my second 1Night Stand story set in Ottawa. Therefore, I thought I’d share some fun and interesting facts about the capital....

1. Ottawa is Canada’s capitol and fourth largest city in the country, nestled between the two largest populations (Toronto and Montreal), and was originally called Bytown named for Colonel John By, the engineer who oversaw construction of the Rideau Canal.  In 1855 Bytown was incorporated and became Ottawa.

2. The name Ottawa comes from the Algonquin word adawe – which means to trade.

3. Ottawa is the seventh coldest capital in the world. Others that are colder include Ulaan-Baatar in Mongolia, Astana in Kazakhastan, Moscow, Russia, Helsinki in Finland, Reykjavik, Iceland and Tallin in Estonia.

4. There are 35 major festivals in Ottawa. The Canadian Tulip Festival, held every May, is one of the most famous.

5. Ottawa boasts a UNESCO World heritage site – the Rideau Canal. It is the best preserved example of a slackwater canal built in North America. It remains operational along its original line with most of the structures from the early nineteenth century still intact. The Rideau Canal becomes a 7.8 kilometer (4.7 miles) skating rink through downtown Ottawa during the winter months.

6. Ottawa is home to 14 National Museums – Canadian Museum of Civilization, Canadian Children’s Museum, Canadian Postal Museum, The National Gallery of Canada, Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography, Laurier House, Royal Canadian Mint, Library and Archives Canada, Currency Museum of the Bank of Canada, Canadian Museum of Nature, Canadian War Museum, Canadian Science and Technology Museum, and the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum.

7. The Château Laurier Hotel is said to be haunted by the ghost of Charles Melville Hays, the president of the company that built the hotel. Hays died on the Titanic twelve days before the hotel's opening.

8. Ottawa is home to the National Hockey League (NHL) team, The Senators. GO, SENS, GO!

9. The Giant Tiger located in the Byward Market is the ORIGINAL Giant Tiger. In Canada, the GT Boutique is a well know discount store.

10. Parliament Hill is not only one of the most popular tourist attractions in Ottawa with all the government buildings, it is also used to host a sanctuary for stray cats.

Kinks

By Landra Graf
Yep, I went there. My contemporary writing has mainly been geared toward erotica and the 1NS series. I’m working on a new erotica BDSM 1NS and have a second one in the planning stages. One of my first goals with each of these stories was to figure out my main characters kinks, along with those hard limits. I find that kinks can explain a lot about a person, their fears, their past, and their motivations.
It’s also incredibly difficult to research those kinks. I’ll give a little teaser, my next hero is into rope bondage. So far I’ve dived into two different rope bondage books, researched several rope sellers, and looked at a lot of pictures. In some cases what I see pushes my comfort zones, but I like the challenge. There’s new vocabulary, new descriptors, and a whole wide world of rope I never knew about.
In my last 1NS it was all about the basics of BDSM and male submission with a female Domme. For my next couple stories I’m really looking to push outside of the box I created for myself and dive deeper. Yet, I find a lot of my research inspiration comes from reading other books.
I’m getting ready to dive into sensory deprivation, spurred on by some plot bunnies and other things, but I’d love to hear what’s peaked everyone else’s interest in as far as kinks.
Are there kinks you want to know more about? Are there kinks you’d like to read more about? What is a sexy kink and what is not?
For example: I just found out that domination via medical instruments is a thing. I had no idea. I also have heard many a thing about the proper use of wooden spoons via other Decadent and 1NS authors.
So tell me yours, or at least the ones you want to learn more about.

One Cowboy + One Cowboy + One Hula Dancer = Oh My!

 By Starla Kaye

I can’t claim to be the most athletic or the most coordinated woman in the world. But I will give many things a shot to test my limited abilities. One of those things that has interested me is hula dancing. It looks so smooth, so easy to do. And sexy, like something to do with your lover or for your lover. Okay, my version, leaves a whole lot to be desired.
In case you’ve ever been intrigued about learning to dance the hula, here are some helpful links:

WikiHow: How to Dance Hula  http://bit.ly/1x6LhBR

Monkey See: How to Hula Dance videos   http://bit.ly/1DYrZRp

Now, you’re probably thinking how does the subject of hula dancing possibly apply to one of my stories? Well, it does.
I love writing stories about cowboys, particularly if I can make them suffer in some way…”fun” suffering, that is. In Cowboy Dreamin’ I had not only one cowboy to tease and torment, but two! I enjoyed taking them away from their comfort zone, their ranch, and taking them to Maui.
Kendra Barlow has far too much on her daily plate. She’s a businesswoman and she volunteers as a Tahitian dancer with some friends. A love life…impossible. Until her best friend gets involved. Until Madame Eve and her famous 1 Night Stand service gets involved. Learning about Kendra’s secret fantasy of spending a night with a cowboy, Madame Eve goes above and beyond. She grants her such a night, with a bonus: two hunky cowboys.
Here’s a peek into Kendra’s reaction to knowing she is about to perform her dance in front of the men she has been set up with:

She paced across the small room again, fluffing the sides of her grass skirt again. “First impressions are a big deal, you know. And here I’ll be shimmying my ass around wearing a pink skirt made of fake grass and bouncing my boobs in a dumb coconut shell bra.”
To her disgust, Alexis laughed. “They’ll think themselves the luckiest cowboys in the world.”
And how do my cowboys react to seeing her?
The dancers did a sexy little hip-swishing spin. He swallowed and stifled a shudder. Sweat beaded on his upper lip. No doubt she affected every other man in the area. A glance at Carson told him his good buddy sure was under her spell.

He reached for his beer and chugged the rest of it, hoping it would cool him down. It didn’t. As he focused on the woman in the pink skirt again, he thought his poor old heart would beat itself to death. She had more wiggle to those amazing hips than any of the others. Those shells were working darn hard to contain her tempting breasts. And her smile…. God, he’d never seen one so….

This Time, This Christmas

I couldn’t resist writing a Christmas story for Moira and Kiernan. I luff them. Lots. I hope you guys enjoy as much as I do! For those of you who haven’t read This Time Next Year, you might want to before you get into this, just sayin’.

This Time This Christmas

What do you get a vampire for Christmas?
Moira scoured half a dozen stores before stepping into Macy’s, but she'd grown desperate and the Big Red Star gleamed in the mall like a beacon of hope. At the moment, she stared at a gray argyle sweater, which would look good on Kiernan—he'd still look amazing in a garbage bag —but it didn’t have the right amount of oomph.
“Here’s an idea, sugarplum,” Tandy said. Poor thing was probably bored out of her mind. “Why not get yourself something he will like. Get it?”
She got it. In a flash, they were out of the Kingdom of Celebrity Endorsements and standing in front of every woman-loving person’s heaven. If she failed to find something in Victoria’s Secret to raise his…ahem…Christmas spirit, then this entire venture was a lost cause.
Before meeting Kiernan Shaw two years ago, she never would've bought something from here. If she came to the mall, she passed by the push-up bras and frilly underwear with jealous disdain. She pretended that paying outrageous sums of money for something no one saw was the dumbest idea when all she wanted was a good reason to own something that nice. Reason accomplished. Now to find something that’d make their first Christmas extra special.
And to thank him. The last year proved one of the most difficult as she made her transition. At times, she suspected she behaved like a drug addict coming off a favorite vice, except with enhanced strength and speed, but he’d been by her side exactly as he’d promised, and she couldn’t have been more grateful. With his help, she managed to do things like go Christmas shopping with her best friend and not worry about accidentally turning an innocent into a snack.
Tandy’s loud snort pulled her back to the here-and-now. She held something that looked like it’d lost a fight with an angry tiger and fingered the missing crotch of the low-slung leopard print bottoms. “Here it is!”
Moira cupped her hand over her mouth to keep from laughing. “Oh yeah. He’d never be able to resist that.” If he could even figure out what it was….
They perused more racks, cracking jokes and silently judging the women who actually looked at these “creations” like they were legitimate wardrobe choices. Toward the back of the store, she found a possible contender. “What do you think of this?”
Tandy took the hanger and held it up against Moira’s torso, sucking in her bottom lip like she always did when she was thinking. “I think this one could work, sugarplum. But you’re going to need a couple of things to go with it.”
***
The last year had definitely changed everything, especially the way Moira could celebrate holidays. Gone were well-wishes accompanied by lots of wine and champagne, replaced by the synthetic blood she’d learned to create—and somehow she’d managed to flavor some of it to take out that…iron-y taste. Blegh.
She topped off two glasses of chocolate AB+ and sat them on the bedside table. All around, she’d placed battery-operated candles, real fire was way too risky, and replaced their bedding with something more luxurious—the softest Egyptian cotton sheets she'd ever touched and a gorgeous embroidered comforter set. They needed more of the finer things in life. No point in living forever without enjoying everything the world offered.
She checked her reflection in the full-length bathroom mirror, grateful that the whole “No reflection” part of vampire lore wasn’t true. The slip fit her like a glove, the ruby color highlighting her ivory skin and bright red hair. A pair of white stockings enveloped her legs and led down to a pair of knee-high black stiletto boots. She adjusted the straps on the garter. Damn, vampirism is good for the thighs.
After placing the Santa hat on her straightened hair, she sat on the bed and waited.
***
Kiernan clutched the velvet box in his pocket like it was his lifeline. For the unconventional love of his afterlife, he’d scoured Albany for the most unique piece of jewelry available. After all, what good was forever if she looked like everyone else?
Turning the doorknob to their apartment, he shook his head. She was like no one else he’d ever known.
“Moira?” he called into their uncharacteristically silent home. She almost always had music playing, saying it was a result of Tandy’s all-hours painting routine, and she’d introduced him to some interesting artists and songs. Then it struck him—she was still out with said best friend, shopping. Some of the tension in his shoulders eased, and he took a deep breath to relax. A hot shower would wash away the rest of his anxiety, and maybe he’d concoct a better speech than the one currently in his mind.
When he walked into the bedroom, though, he was taken aback by the array of tiny tea light candles all across the room. As his vision settled, he made out the figure lying on the bed, a shit-eating--one of his favorite “modern” words--grin on her perfect pink lips. Bedecked in something that couldn’t pass as actual clothing, she wore a Santa hat on her head and the sexiest black boots he’d ever seen. He swallowed against his suddenly dry throat.
She held up a sprig of mistletoe above her body. “Merry Christmas, babe.”
It most definitely was.
