La Isla Del Encanto

By Evelise Archer

Hopefully the Spanish title grabbed your attention and now you’re asking, what the hey? My release, Tropical Paradise takes place in beautiful Puerto Rico, where the sun, sand, and the sea are in abundance.
As a Latina, the island paradise is near and dear to my heart. Beautiful men and women grace the island’s beaches everyday soaking up the sun and looking for love. So, I decided, what better place than this scrumptious back drop for my 1Night Stand?
Writing Tropical Paradise was fun as I mapped the island in my mind, knowing that I had been there or could pinpoint any of the places. The drive from the airport in San Juan towards the coast, the sun shining brightly and the radio blaring. Every word written was a memory come to life and fueled my desire to tell Leo and Skyler’s story.
What you may find ironic is that out of everyone in my family, I am the least beachy-heat person. My family laughs as they ask, what kind of Latina are you, since you hate the heat and sand? What can I say- I may be Latina hot and have a Latin temper, but the heat is not my friend! I think is another life I was Eskimo and not Latina.
I am my own oxymoron, but that’s what makes me unique and this Chica loves unique. So, how about a contest? Is there something that makes you an oxymoron or very unique? Like me, do you love snow to be measured in feet not inches while maintaining a Latin flair?

Leave a comment and don’t forget your email address so Decadent can send a copy of Tropical Paradise to the winner.

Desert Tryst Cover Reveal

by Susanne Saville

Welcome 1Night Stand fans! I bring you – drumroll, please – the newly revealed cover of Desert Tryst, my upcoming m/m romance in Decadent’s 1NS series:
Ta-da! Let us take a moment to ogle the pretty together.
Okay.
You may have noticed the sign mentioning New Mexico on this cover.
Chances are, when you think of New Mexico, you think of UFOs and Roswell. Or maybe that’s only common amongst us X-Philes. Maybe you think of Breaking Bad. Or, if you’re a history buff, perhaps you think of the Trinity Site.
One of the heroes of Desert Tryst has a special interest in Cold War history, so of course Trinity Site is mentioned. This is the location where the Manhattan Project detonated the world’s first nuclear device, July 16, 1945.
Attribution
Those interested can visit the actual explosion site. It’s open to the public once a year. The explosion fused a crater of desert sand to glass, and you can still find such bits of green Trinitite as you walk the ground, although it’s illegal (and slightly radioactive) to take with you.
Speaking of green, if you’re a foodie, then mention of

New Mexico may make you think of green chiles.  But that’s another post altogether. Look for it on my blog: http://susannesaville.blogspot.com

Desert Tryst blurb:
The cat-and-mouse game between professional assassin Dmitri Dzerzhinsky and FBI Special Agent Thomas Dalton may be developing into something more, at least for Dmitri. Blurring which side Dmitri’s on can’t continue. Hoping to get rid of his desire for Thomas, Dmitri goes to 1Night Stand for help.
Unaware of the assassin’s interest, Thomas is attracted to Dmitri as well. So, discovering Madame Eve has given the Special Agent a night with the man of his dreams seems too good to be true.
Sometimes it’s dangerous to get what you wish for. Can two men on opposite sides of the law find common ground beyond their mutual attraction?

Top Ten Favorite Everything He Wants Quotes!

By Megan Slayer

I thought I’d do something a little different this time around. In the spirit of David Letterman’s Top Ten List, I wanted to share my top ten favorite quotes from Everything He Wants.

10. “You’re not turned off? The tats, the piercing, the crazy-ass hair doesn’t bother you? My past isn’t stellar and I’ve made some stupid decisions. I’m clean, but not sparkling clean.” ~ Jeremy
9. Damn, there was so much more to the man than he’d expected. ~ Trace
8. “You can’t do the single thing forever.” ~ Joya
7. Jeremy’s eyes widened. “Most guys think I’m a freak or they want money. You haven’t even asked about my tats.”
6. “I’m here to meet my destiny.” ~ Jeremy
5. Trace liked a man with confidence, but in Jeremy he also sensed unleashed passion, fury and fear battling within.
4. Dressed in casual wear, Trace personified sex.
3. “But you’re not a mistake. You’re just what I wanted.” ~ Trace
2. “You don’t have to keep the shields up. I’m not like the other guys.” ~ Jeremy
1. “You’re a treasure,” Trace murmured, his voice a soothing rumble. “Flawed, sexy, and just who I want.”
What do you like best about the series? Which quotes were your favorites? Let me know. J

Here’s a little more about my story, Everything He Wants:

1Night Stand
Everything He Wants
by Megan Slayer

Trace has almost everything he wants—a great job and a well-ordered life, but he’s ready for more—the right guy to share it with. A chance meeting after a hockey game with the man of his dreams spurs him on to turn to the one source he knows will help him out—Madame Eve’s 1Night Stand service.
Jeremy can’t forget the difficult childhood and subsequent bad decisions he made while trying to forget it. He wants the gorgeous air traffic controller, but he’s afraid his past will get in the way like it always does. If all Madame Eve can give them is one night…he’ll take it.
With Madame Eve’s help, can the men forge the relationship they both want, or will they crash and burn?

About the Author:
When she's not writing the stories in her head, Megan Slayer can be found luxuriating in her hot tub with her two vampire Cabana boys, Luke and Jeremy. She has the tendency to run a tad too far with her muse, so she has to hide in the head of her alter ego, but the boys don't seem to mind.
When she’s not obsessing over her whip collection, she can be found picking up her kidlet from school. She enjoys writing in all genres, but writing about men in love suits her fancy best. The cabana boys are willing to serve, unless she needs them. She always need them. So be nice to Javier or he will bite--on command.
She also masquerades under the name Wendi Zwaduk.

Christmas With Class

Happy holidays! I’d like to wish you all the happiest and safest of days, and thanks to those who have bought A Class Act  and A Different Class (unlike other Decadent authors talking to you this week, I do not have a holiday work with the publisher. Never say never, though. It was suggested maybe I offer up a piece on how the man in my Class series might celebrate the season.
A Different Class, while part of the 1Night Stand imprint, focuses a bit on Rod’s line of work, brewing. Sigmund Brewing is small but gaining traction, and as I write more you may find the company figuring more into stories. Today, I envisioned a raucous holiday party to celebrate a successful year.
Imagine, if you will, a large meeting room draped in sparkling red and green garlands. A Charlie Brown tree sits in one corner, the long meeting table laden with supermarket cold cuts and chicken wings. Somebody’s tapped a keg of seasonal beer, and everybody has a red Solo cup in hand. There’s an iPhone plugged into a speaker and everybody’s singing along to Bruce Springsteen’s Santa Claus anthem.
Rod Maloney, the company’s owner, is seen in high spirits—it’s been a while since his employees have found him so happy, but he has reason this year. He’s brought a date, and people at the brewery are familiar with Glenn, a man Rod went to high school with but didn’t really get to know until recently. People are sketchy about how they met (something to do with a nearby resort and a blind date?) but it doesn’t matter. They’re close together and under the mistletoe, sneaking kisses while the music changes to something more traditional.
People slip in an out of the meeting room. Are they hooking up elsewhere, in abandoned offices or the narrow cubbyhole that houses the copier? Hard to say, but nobody seems to notice when Rod tugs Glenn out the door and leads him to his office.
Door locks, papers pushed aside. The Santa hat falls from Glenn’s head with a weak tinkling noise and he’s on his back on the desk, adjusting for his boyfriend’s weight on him. With fevered longing they kiss and grope each other, fueled by seasonal micro-brew and the spirit of giving. Two people who wallowed in loneliness earlier this year have no fear anymore. They have each other, and the promise of a bright future.
Merry Christmas, and to all a good night.

Start Spreading the News…

I am excited to see my second 1Night Stand story, A Class Act, available for sale at Decadent Publishing. After the good reception to A Different Class, I knew I had at least one more story in this universe to tell. A Class Act takes two of my heroes to New York City, and while they don’t get to do much sightseeing, they have a good time. J
NYC is one of my favorite places to visit. Every time I’m in Manhattan I see something new, and that’s partly why I set this story here. Of course, it goes without saying that the Castillo family would have at least one property in the city, and I’m sure Madame Eve knows her way around. Where I live, I can take an express bus to NYC for only $70 round trip. That’s a bargain, and it frees up money to spend elsewhere. It’s a goal of mine to spend a weekend there on a Broadway trip. Pick two or three shows I must see, then a nice dinner.
I’ve had the pleasure of seeing a few shows on Broadway. My first was twenty years ago, when my husband and I got last minute tickets to Miss Saigon. We missed the “name” actor, unfortunately, but as it turned out his understudy did an excellent job. Next, I saw Mamma Mia with a friend and my then five-year-old daughter. It was a bit loud for her, but it made an impression because she loves the music (and the movie version).
My favorite to date is the revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. We were lucky to catch both Daniel Radcliffe and John Larroquette in that show. I was a die-hard Night Court fan back in the day, so seeing John perform live was a dream come true. Oh, and I liked Mr. Potter, too. ;-)
In A Class Act, Paul is an actor in a hit Broadway show. His “date” is his former drama teacher. Will they compare notes or get down to some extracurricular activities? You’ll have to read to find out. Hope you enjoy it!

A Thaw in Puerto Rico

The chill of the Autumn is finally here—no more heated interludes on the beach, and snow is in the air. Good thing Skyler has decided to set up permanent residence in sunny Puerto Rico with his lover Leo.
Apart for many years, Leo and Skyler have finally found each other once again, thanks to Madame Eve and the 1Night Stand service. Skyler may be a city boy, but his heart lies with Leo on la isladelencanto where the sky is always an iridescent shade of blue and the ocean water crystal    Are the chilly nights getting to you as well? Maybe you need to escape the Fall freeze and grab a copy of Tropical Paradise. Fun in the sun on a beautiful island and sexy men will thaw your heart and leave you wishing you were in sunny Puerto Rico too.

Tropical Paradise blurb:
Can Madame Eve work her magic one more time? Leo Santos left the one man he loved behind to care for his ailing father. Sky Macy never forgot his one and only that got away.    On a secluded beach at the resort Las Casitas Villas in Fajardo, Leo and Sky come face to face after years apart. Passion ignites so hot it threatens to burn them from within. They both will need to open their hearts and learn to trust if they hope to find love during one night of passion in a tropical paradise.

Excerpt:
Skyler smiled, remembering the first time he’d seen the olive-skinned young man. Leopoldo Maria Santos. The hotheaded Latin that blew into his life with the force of the hurricanes that hit Leo’s homeland. He had strutted into Sky’s dorm room three days before classes started, freshman year.
“Hi.” Skyler’d waved from his perch on the bed. He’d been dressed in shorts and a tank top, trying to stay cool in the muggy early September day in Philadelphia. “You a nursing student, too?”
“Yo? Hell no. Not that I have anything against nurses, but aren’t they usually women? Teacher. That’s what I want to do.” Hmmm, clearly not from around there, not with that accent.
“Nah, men are nurses, too. Maybe it’s not as common, but I’m hoping that’s in my favor. Where you from, cool accent?”
“Puerto Rico.Just arrived here last week.Stayed with my sister and her fiancé in New Jersey.”
His new roomie, tanned and handsome, dumped his duffle on the empty bed. Sky moved over to sit on the bed. “So, I’m Sky. Skyler but not too many people call me that. And you?”
“Leopoldo Maria Santos.Leo, for short.”
“Damn, man, Maria is your middle name? Sucks to be you.” Sky laughed so hard, tears streamed down his face and he held his side.
“So what, your mami couldn’t figure out what to call you, so she decided on    Sky instead of bird? What the hell stupid name is that? At least, where I come from, having Maria as your middle name, boy or girl, is something important. I was named after the Virgin Mary.” Disdain filling his voice, he gave Skyler the hairy eyeball.
Intrigued by the boy with the girl’s middle name, Sky admired his passion. It didn’t hurt that Leo also had killer looks.
Skyler pulled himself from his reminiscing and squinted in the sunlight, trying to get a better look at the man on the dock. Could it be Leo? He wanted to shout from the balcony but feared disturbing the other guests. And what if the man only resembled Leo? Years passed and people changed. Still…. Telling himself he needed to get to the dock anyway, he grabbed his overnight kit and sunglasses and made his way to the lobby desk.
“Hi, Celia, can you tell me where I go catch the launch? I swear I saw someone I know down by the marina.”
“Well, you won’t have much time to spare, but that’s where you’re headed. Out the front door, follow the right-hand path down to the marina, about a five-minute walk. When you get there, look for a yellow launch and ask for Joe. He’ll take you across to Palomino. Everything is ready there for you.”
“Has my date arrived on Palomino yet?” His voice cracked, nerves getting the best of him. How did Madame Eve choose the perfect person for someone? Would they get along? Have the same likes or dislikes? And had he really spotted Leo?
“I’ve not seen him, but I have it on good authority,” she winked, “that the man of your dreams is already on the island, enjoying the sun and sand.”
“Celia, you’re a tease, but I can tell we’re going to get along.” He chuckled and even that slight bit of humor settled his nerves. “Wish me luck. The man of my dreams may be just a short boat ride away.”
“You have no idea,” Celia called after him.

What About Him?

Most of the time when we think about romance, we (women) focus on ourselves. What do we think of as romantic? How can our lover please us? How can we get our lover to…? Well, anything that would make our tender hearts pound in excitement.
What about him? Doesn’t the man you love deserve equal treatment? Of course, this same thought can apply to the other person in your relationship, whether it is a woman-woman one or a man-man one. Generally speaking, there is one person in the relationship who tends to be the leader in the romance department.
I’m focusing here on suggestions about what a woman can do for her man, or the non-romance-leader to do for person they love.
Dress with your lover in mind. Wear one of his favorite outfits or wear your hair in a way her prefers. Buy some sexy underwear or some that has a suggestive message on it. Purchase some body paint and write a love message on your personal billboard just for him. Or wear one of his shirts and nothing else; make sure he knows that’s all you’re wearing.
Are you into touching? So are men. They’re not only visually oriented but very tactile loving. Play footsie under the table in a public place, keeping it appropriate so as not to embarrass either of you. Walk by him and touch his shoulder, maybe give it a little squeeze, and walk away. Give him a big hug for no apparent reason. Give him a hit-and-run surprise kiss on the cheek. Walk by him where he is sitting and lightly run your fingers through his hair.
Do you like being pampered? So do men. They like to know they’re appreciated, too. After he’s had a tough day, give him a massage or run him a hot bath…join him in it. Watch his favorite TV show (or game) with him, put his feet in your lap, and rub them. Buy some massage oil and have him stretch out on the sofa for a soothing rubdown. Set a romantic scene with blankets and pillows in front of the fireplace (or someplace special), serve him your favorite wine or his favorite drink, and….
Keep him aware of you. Put a nice or naughty note in his briefcase, or to open on his laptop. Call him at work and tell him you’re looking forward to having a special time with him that night. Tuck a suggestive picture of you in his shirt pocket. Show up at his office with his favorite snack or with tickets to an event he likes: a concert, a game, a special movie. Give him a long, hot kiss out of the blue.
The list can go on and on. But I think you get the idea. Be creative and have fun with showing your love of the important person in your life.

CONTEST: Share either something you’ve tried to show appreciation to your lover, or another suggestion to consider. I will select a random winner from the responses on October 27th. The prize is a $25 gift card to Babeland Toys. Winner will receive one e-book of their choice from my Decadent Publishing backlist. Good luck!

The Gift and New Beginnings

Available HERE
A few years ago I took an on-line class called “BDSM for Writers.” While I’d read a number of erotic romances with BDSM themes, I didn’t truly appreciate the strength it takes to be a submissive until I took this class. Subs aren’t door mats, and they can be leaders in their day-to-day lives, yet need to submit in the bedroom.
I began to think about the most masculine types of men in American culture, and the idea of having a huge cowboy be a sub struck me as something different and interesting to write about. So I made myself a note, which simply said, “Cowboy Submissive.”
When I decided to write a story for the 1Night Stand line, my thoughts immediately returned to the cowboy submissive idea. I began to flesh out the character, and Wyatt was “born.” I decided to make his Dom somewhat his opposite, a bit shorter, leaner, older, darker, more sophisticated and world-wary than the blond six-foot-six Montana cowboy.
Wyatt was extremely dedicated to his family, so when his parents died in an accident, he left Rafael to raise his younger brothers. Rafael was devastated to lose his sub and lover, yet pride got in the way of chasing after his man.
The two were apart for ten years until Wyatt’s brothers treated him to a 1Night Stand package as a birthday gift.  Madame Eve worked her magic and reunited the two. While there is BDSM in this story, it is light. The Gift has been called sweet and sexy by readers. I can imagine some who haven’t read the story might wonder how this combination is possible when BDSM is involved. It comes from showing this reunion as a thing of love. Rafael woos his sub as the two cherish their time together.
If you haven’t had a chance to read The Gift, I hope you check it out. When I wrote it, I didn’t want to stop with Wyatt and Rafael’s story. I’d introduced Blackbird, the Malone family guest and working ranch and mentioned Wyatt’s four younger brothers. When I created Wyatt and Rafael’s character sketches, I also followed through and created one for each brother. The plan was to write a story for each of them. I was thrilled when readers asked for more Malone brother stories, as well.
I’m happy to announce Sam’s Temptation was contracted by Decadent Publishing, and I will begin the editing process soon. It’s a sequel to The Gift, but can be read as a standalone. This story centers on the second oldest Malone brother, Sam, and Rafael’s younger cousin, Gabriela (Gabi). It begins a few months after the conclusion of The Gift, and Wyatt and Rafael are prominent secondary characters in this story, which is set in Montana. This foodie romance highlights Montana,Argentine, and quinceañera cuisine.
Here’s a peek via the unedited blurb:
Chef Gabi Inez leaves a trendy Manhattan restaurant to take a working vacation in Montana. Her schedule allows her to enjoy planned activities and hangout with her cousin and his new family. She’s not looking for love, but spending time with a hunky cowboy sounds perfect.
Sam Malone is the brains behind Blackbird, a guest and working ranch. Since his parents’ death, his sole purpose has been family and the ranch’s survival. Burned by love in the past, he avoids the distraction that comes with beautiful women. But what’s a cowboy to do when a sweet and sassy chef gets under his skin, only to be told by her overprotective cousin she’s off limits?
Thank you for stopping by today!

Blurb:
At 22, rancher Wyatt Malone sacrificed almost everything, including the Dom he served and loved, to raise his younger brothers. Now, with the ranch running well, his grown up siblings surprise him with a trip to a Caribbean paradise and a date from Madame Evangeline's 1Night Stand. Taking his courage in hand, he fills out an application that bares his soul for a single night of surrender to a nearly forgotten passion.

Rafael is a Dom without a sub. His desires exceed the available men in the dungeon he frequents and memories of rejected love keep him aloof. Can the submission of a Montana cowboy free him or will the date be nothing more than another meaningless scene?

Excerpt:
Rafael blotted his mouth with his napkin and placed it on the table. Wyatt set his fork down and waited. The old familiar energy pulsed between them. Heat zipped through his groin, and he shifted in his seat as his erection pressed against his jeans.
“Wyatt, you asked Madame Eve for a Dominant for one night.” Rafael slid a keycard on the table between them. “If you accept my invitation to play, you will take this card and be in my suite, ready, in fifteen minutes.”
Without hesitation, he reached over and grasped it. When his wrist was grabbed, tugging him forward, Wyatt braced his free hand on the table and accepted Rafael’s lips. At first they brushed, a tease, and then the kiss became a sensual play of tongues. His heart pounded at the taste of curry and tequila. He twirled his tongue around the other man’s and groaned. Rafael’s lips trailed across his jaw and down his neck, stubble scraping across sensitive skin, creating a rasp of pleasure that flowed all the way down his spine.
The Dom followed it with a nip on the bottom lip and then pulled back, twisting Wyatt’s wrist slightly to glance at his watch. Rafael released him and leaned back with a wicked grin. Wyatt’s heart raced.
“You now have thirteen minutes.”

Fall into Summer

Summer may be officially over, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t relax and go to the beach. My favorite time to hit the sand happens to be the fall. A crispness to the air, I sit in my lounger, wrapped in a blanket, listen to the crashing waves and read. And what do I read? Sexy men cavorting on the beach in tiny bathing suits!
Don’t let the chill in the air get you down. Pick up a copy of Tropical Paradise, 1NS, and go back to the beach. Fun in the sun in La Isal del Encanto where you’ll meet Leo and Sky in sunny Puerto Rico.

Blurb:

Getting Schooled

By: Leigh Ellwood

I am so pleased Decadent has contracted what will become my second 1Night Stand story. A Class Act, like the first (A Different Class) is M/M and connected to the class/school alumni theme. This time, instead of two former classmates hooking up, I focus on a different pairing that may play in some fantasies – the teacher crush.
Before any hackles raise, I’ll point out in the story that the people involved are a teacher and his former, now mature student. It’s not like that Police song. Well, maybe it is in a way, but I hope you enjoy reading it. Personally, I’ve not had a teacher crush (the result of having attended a Catholic school populated by ancient nuns), but maybe you have. A Class Act depicts a fantasy come true, which is one facet of the 1Night Stand concept – satisfaction for all people involved.
At this writing, I have started a third story to tie-in with the theme, but I won’t divulge details just yet. One advantage to writing part of a series is that you already have ideas come up from previous installments, and you get to revisit characters and see how they are doing. That will be the case in the future, as long as Decadent likes what I send them. All the stories, like the first, will be M/M since it is a favorite pairing to write.
For now, though, A Different Class is a great 1NS to try because it touches on themes relevant to today. If you have ever fretted over a reunion or wondered what became of people in your past, you may relate to this story. If you enjoy angsty heroes who overcome issues you will definitely enjoy it. If you do read it, please tweet at me @LeighEllwood and let me know.

Stay classy!
Leigh
