Another Prides of the Moon release!

OPAL MOON by Ann Mayburn

Burdened by heartache, werepuma Alpha Giselle seeks the complete release only offered by a night of sexual abandonment in the arms of a couple selected by the 1 Night Stand matchmaking service. Unable to fully bond with her gay male beta, Noah, she has been starved for affection and hopes that the mysterious couple can keep up with her sensual demands.

Inara and her husband of over a thousand years, Theron, are traveling through the human world, seeking out those that are in need of Inara’s special fay gift. Inara is a sorrow eater. She takes the grief of others and replaces it with joy. Giselle is in desperate need of Inara’s healing touch after the death of her sister and the rejection of her beta. Together they will try to fill each other’s needs and desires, but only if Giselle will once again open her heart to the greatest force in the universe, love.

EXCERPT:
Giselle touched the soft curve of Inara’s cheek, overwhelmed by the arousal pouring off the woman in heated waves. So much passion, she’d never felt anything like it. The ebony-skinned woman nibbled on the back of her knee. She threw her head back and gasped as zings of pleasure started a pulse of need between her legs. She imagined her licking other places on her body and shivered.

Someone bumped into her and a large hand brushed over her arm. Without turning, she snarled. Her warning growl echoed in the rafters, and the crowd pressed away from them. A new song began to pound out from the speakers but the dance floor continued to clear. The taste of fear hit her palate and drew her inner puma even closer to the surface. At her feet, the female rubbed her face against her calf with a rumbling moan that she answered with a purr.

Cold air blasted down on them, strong enough to send her hair flying around her. She shook her head, clearing it of the hormones pumping from the entrancing woman before her. The chill air slid over her skin like ice cubes and she crossed her arms, uncomfortably aware of the circling crowd watching her with a mixture of fear and arousal.

A big man in a black suit approached them, his hands held out in front of him. Tall, with a muscular build, he none-the-less radiated power and dominance. His dark hair curled slightly at the temples, and his skin glowed with a deep summer tan. Around his neck hung a badge with a picture of DJ Minx on it and his name, Theron. The lovely DJ still curled around her legs, idly stroking the back of her knee in a way that drove her desire to the breaking point.

“What is going on?” She gripped her hands into fists.

Book 1 of PRIDE OF THE MOON is here!

When the idea for Amber Moon first occurred to me it was while I watched an episode of ‘True Blood’ and drooled over Alcide...you know, the uber hot werewolf who needs to be naked 90% of the time. God bless the writers of True Blood. He even makes a beard look good.

Anyway, as I was lusting after him, I started to daydream about what kind of shifter I would want to be if I had a choice. Werewolves are cool, but didn’t seem to fit, too slobbery. I’d be a sensual and lethal werecat. Not just any random werecat, I’d be a weremountain lion, or as they’re known around my neck of the woods, a werepuma. Big cats that are as deadly as they are beautiful.

Then I started to think about the dynamics of a pride, how human beings are social creatures and even if they did have the spirit of a puma, they would still want to live in groups or prides. We all want to be loved, and you can’t love and be loved if you’re alone. Beyond that, family is such an important thing to me, I could never imagine being happy without mine and the same goes for my shifters. The pride is their extended family and their mates the center of their universe.

Yep, I said mates. The shifters that I write about in my ‘Pride of the Moon’ series, of which Amber Moon is book one, revolve around the complex relationship between Alphas and their Betas. In the case of Amber Moon the story is about a Beta, Sabrina Wayne, looking for her perfect Alphas. Being bi-sexual is just part of who she is and holds no social stigmas in the shifter world. The story isn’t about her battling her attraction to women, it’s about her long struggle to find Alphas strong enough to dominate her.

D/s(Dominance and submission) is part of the stories through the entire ‘Prides of the Moon’ series. Now by D/s I don’t mean someone wears the leather pants and someone wears the ball gag, I mean that delicious power struggle that makes sex so fantastically exciting. That edge of danger and control that makes the big kitties purr.

I hope you enjoy Amber Moon. The next story, Emerald Moon, will be coming out sometime in August and it features characters introduced in Amber Moon. You can read a snippet from Amber Moon at my website www.annmayburn.com as well as see the covers for my other 1Night Stand books.
