How
many of you have heard of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People? It’s a way
of living our lives so that we are effective at work and at home. It gives us a
way to strengthen our intrapersonal and interpersonal skills. These habits of
mind were written by Stephen Covey.
Here is an abbreviated
recounting of the 7 Habits:
Be proactive - Understand
that change happens first from within. You are the one to influence the path of
your life rather than reacting to external forces.
Begin with the end in
mind - What are your big goals? What’s your personal mission?
Put first things first - Spend
time doing what fits into your personal mission. Make time for the key roles
you play in your life.
Think win-win - Seek
agreements and relationships that are mutually beneficial.
Seek first to understand,
then to be understood- no explanation needed here.
Synergize - The whole is
greater than the sum of its parts. Seek to make that so in your relationships.
Sharpen the saw - Review
and practice these habits.
Now
that we’re all on the same page, it’s a shame Remy Charles, the ghostly lead in
Ghost of a Chance, didn’t live his life by these habits. His life would have
been so different. I honestly don’t believe he ever would have been divorced or
cursed into becoming a ghost of a man. Being the construction magnate that he
was, he could have completely restructured and prioritized his work and home
much better. Alas, he has this epiphany a little too late. Luckily, 1 Night
Stand is there to scoop him up at his lowest point and give him another chance
at life and love.

How
many of the habits listed above are ones you can start insinuating into your
life right now?

Hadn't heard of those which is probably why I'm a weak spineless individual....LOL I'm going to start by sharpening my saw and going to speak to my husband. That saw will come in handy if he doesn't get up and wash the windows!
