At times there
just aren’t enough hours in the day. Okay, so there are never enough. LOL. I go to work with a 2 hour drive time (around
trip), write, blog, promote, spend time with the hubs, and feed everyone. Oh,
and I have to sleep, right? That is just the daily routine of the work week
(Monday-Friday). I have a little more time on the weekends to write and catch
up on blogs, but other duties suck up most of it, like shopping for food to
feed the family, clean house (Why can’t I have a self-cleaning house?), and
laundry. I’m sure I missed something. I’m on autopilot so much it blurs
together.
What about
‘me’ time? I just don’t get it too much. Being a mom and wife has put me into the
habit of giving and never doing anything for myself. There are times I forget
because I’m so use to doing for others and overwhelmed with everything going on
(that’s the autopilot thing). Playtime just doesn’t fit into my schedule.
Recently I hit
a low and needed to squeeze in some time to read, go to the beach, or simply
sit and watch a little TV with my husband. I was working overtime at the day
job and trying to finish my WIP (work in progress) to send it off to my editor.
I couldn’t think, nothing was working and I was about to run away from home.
Not really, but the thought was intriguing. LOL. I found out that a little time
to step away from everything helps me focus when I’m ready to get back to work.
So now I do schedule in ‘playtime’, even if it only 30 minutes a day. It nice
to have that break from the normal routine, to do something different.
Some of my
favorite ‘me’ time activities are reading and just being with my hubby. What do
you like to do to get away from the hectic life duties?

adventure straight out of her romantic fantasies. She's to hunt her very own

Vampire Darian

exclusive matching agency. At first he's appalled by the idea, but as he reads
the details of the date he becomes intrigued. For one night he will get away
from the life he has long grown tired of to be hunted and captured by a
would-be huntress. But he has plans of his own for his little vixen.
However, when
Darian discovers the truth about Ema's inhuman abilities, the date could end
before it gets started.

mother to two young adults and two very special, equally different kitty cats.
She’s a wife to her soul mate, who drives her crazy during editing/revisions.
She and her family live in Northeast Florida battling hurricanes and very humid

An accounting
major, Lia has always been a dreamer with a very activity imagination. The
wheels in her head never stop. She only recently became serious about
publishing her work and loves it more than she imagined. Writing is a stress
reliever that allows her to go off in her corner of the house and enter into
another world she created, leaving the day job where it belongs.
Her favorite
things are spending time with family, traveling, reading, writing, chocolate,
coffee, nature and hanging out with her kitties.

Me time is usually spent writing or reading but I do like jigsaws - not the tool, the ones with a thousand pieces! MIndless fun!Sounds like a great 1NS! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteLia, I spend my me time reading usually but every once in a while I manage to squeeze in a pedicure or a massage. I know the "I want to run away from home" feeling when it gets to bad then I book a hotel room on a Friday night and find a sitter for the kids and just take the night off. (I try to make sure the hotel has a hot tub!)
ReplyDeletelove the one night stand series and your contribution looks fantastic! Carin

Thank for the great giveaway. My "me" time activities are reading and trying to hide from the kids. Unfortunately, they always find me.
