One Night With A Wolf

By Rebecca Royce

When I first heard about the 1NS series that was being published by Decadent Publishing, I was absolutely transfixed with the idea of writing in this world.  Who was Madame Evangeline and who were the people that she would help find true love by giving them one night together?

My muse loves the paranormal and so my creative juices began to flow.  I could picture Joseph very clearly. He’d come to New York City and he sat, waiting for someone at the restaurant called The View in the Marriott Marquis Hotel.  I’ve been to the View many times.  Ten years ago, I brought my husband there on his first visit to NYC with me.  He’s from the southern part of the United States.  He didn’t enjoy the experience as much as I had hoped, starting with the cost of drinks at the bar.
But that is where Joe and my husband part ways.  The hero in this INS story is hiding a secret that he thinks will keep him alone for the rest of his life.  But is that true? Can one night with the right person change your life? I thought it could and so One Night With A Wolf was born.

Joseph Penn is a Werewolf who has come to New York City to celebrate his sister’s birthday. Having been turned against his will years earlier in a violent attack, he spends as little time as possible away from his secluded home. Sitting in the bar, waiting for his sister, he’s shocked when he receives an unexpected text from his old friend, Madame Evangeline, the owner of the exclusive dating service, 1Night Stand, telling him he’s being set up with a woman in that very bar.

Kaylee Post has lost her boyfriend, her job, and her self-confidence. Intending to celebrate her friend’s birthday at the Manhattan restaurant, she never expects instead to have a one-night stand with a wolf who will change her life in ways she can’t yet imagine.

I hope you enjoy my take on the 1NS series.  I can’t wait to keep reading this fantastic series and to write another one!

Best
RR

Let's get familiar with Familiar Desires!

by Olivia Starke

Hi everyone, I am happy to blog for 1NS today, and I am really proud of how One Night Stand has taken off! Originally, Kate Richards, Valerie Mann, and I came up with the idea (kind of a spin-off of another we’ve toyed with) and we’re amazed at the great reception it’s gotten. We never anticipated that Decadent would embrace the series so wholeheartedly, and I have to say I’m humbled by all the wonderful authors who are contributing to 1NS. Our baby is all grown up and out in the world, and I can’t wait to see where she goes.

The three of us believe in happily ever after, and that’s what gives the series its kick. Madame Evangeline is a devious sort and while you think you’re in for a wild one-nighter, she has other plans. And trust me no one is left unsatisfied in this One Night Stand.

Familiar Desires is my contribution to the series. An erotic paranormal, my cougar heroine, Ashley, is in for one hell of a night with a super hot twenty-six year old. Though I’m in my 30s I can’t seem to ditch my roving eye when it comes to 20 somethings, so it was nice to let Ashley play. Of course things aren’t quite what they appear-but I’ll have to let you find out the details in the release.

Blurb:

“Honey,” he whispered against her lips, “if we don’t get this elevator started now, I’m going to take you right here.”

Ashley Adams signed up with the 1NightStand service in hopes of stirring up some cougar passion in her lackluster life. When she meets tall, dark, and oh-so-sexy Justin, the sparks fly. But something deeper lies in their magical connection, something she isn't prepared for. Will a casual one-night stand change her life forever?

Excerpt:

“You’re more beautiful than your picture.” He reached past her shoulder and hit the emergency stop. Her breath caught in her throat when the elevator jolted to a halt.
“What are you doing?” She darted a glance up at the security camera.
The way his mouth curved at the corners made her knees knock. “Your profile said you liked to be adventurous.” The tip of his tongue stroked over his bottom lip as he watched her through heavy-lidded eyes.
“I-I meant trekking through the wilds of Africa , sky diving, that sort of thing.” Her heart beat so loudly, surely he had to hear it. He stepped forward—his finger traced her jaw line before he tipped her chin up. She swallowed.
“Sky diving? Can’t say I’d have the guts to try that, though I’d love the chance to kiss a pretty girl in an elevator.”
A corny come-on line if she’d ever heard one, but spoken with a whiskey-smooth Kentucky drawl—damn, it works for me. That’s what she’d come for, to have an unforgettable night with a hot hunk to stir up her humdrum life. After all, she’d dished out the funds for the flight, half the price of the hotel room, and the 1NightStand fee.
He moved in close, and a wonderful, heady mix of musk and spice filled her nose. Her insides somersaulted in anticipation, wicked intent written all over his perfectly chiseled face. They could be kicked out of the hotel, or worse—arrested and appear on one of those dumbest criminals shows. The elevator wall pressed into her back, but when he leaned forward and touched his lips to hers, all the reasons they shouldn’t be doing this in the elevator evaporated.

NOTE FROM AUTHOR:  Sunday May 22, at 6 pm, I turned on the local weather to find that a twister was on the ground in Joplin, Missouri. This isn't unusual when you live in tornado alley, and we're usually a prepared lot, so I didn't expect much more than a few barn roofs gone and at most, some injuries.

Instead, the EF5 tornado reduced entire neighborhoods to rubble and the death toll was horrifying. My heart aches for the victims, at the lives that will recover but never be the same. I'll be donating my first month's royalties for Familiar Desires to help in Joplin's recovery

The Middlesex Suite ~ see what all the fuss is about!

by Gwendolyn Page (for Gwendolyn Page)

Today I’m interviewing myself about my new release The Middlesex Suite, which is out, today. I’m a bit nervous about this self-interview, because I never know what hardball questions might come out of left field. Wow, that’s a screwed up metaphor my esteemed and beloved editor ought to jump on. Maybe she won’t see this. Anyway, on with the interview.

So, Gwendolyn, your first Decadent release—out today—how does it feel?

Amazing, Gwendolyn, it’s like finally giving birth after months of expectancy. My baby will finally emerge into the world. Waiting is frustrating, but eventually it comes out.

Ha. So you’re now it’s slap-the-bottom time. Then I suppose you look down to see if it’s a boy or a girl, eh?

Funny you should put it quite that way.

Why? What do you mean?

Well, let’s just say it has a lot to do with the story. Not to give anything away, but the whole matter of sex is central to the plot.

Yeah, well, it does fall into the erotic romance genre, right? So of course sex is central to the plot.

Sure, but maybe I should say gender. It’s about sex and it’s about gender, too.

Gender genre?

Wow, Gwen, even I wouldn’t stoop to a pun like that. And that’s saying something.

Sorry. But I suppose that’s why The Middlesex Suite is one of the pioneer works in Decadent’s GLBT 1NightStand series.

That’s right. Only…

Only what? It’s a GLBT story, right?

Without question. Definitely. Absolutely. With the understanding that no one in the story is actually G, L, B, or T.

Come again?

Not touching that one, Gwen.

I mean, explain what you mean. That doesn’t make any sense.

Sorry, you’re just going to have to read it for yourself. I’m not giving away my Shyamalan-esque twist.

Dudette, you evoke MNS. Two words: The Happening.

Okay, point taken. Let’s say then early Shyamalan.

We’re getting off subject here, Gwenny. Maybe you’d better just give us a blurb.

Okay. I tried to start it with “In a world where…” but you’ll just have to read it with your best announcer’s voice, okay?

How do you divide two sexes by three people—and end up with a One Night Stand?

For three to be company, somebody has to cross the bi-barrier. That’s why Chad and Linda had called it quits—neither one would take the plunge. Their dream of three-way love was doomed by the facts of life: when it comes to sex, there are only two choices.

Enter the mysterious Madame Evangeline, who has arranged for each the perfect blind date, on the same night, same city—same hotel suite. When a beautiful blonde Jeri knocks on their door they still can’t do the math, but is there more to her than meets the eye? Is that their long-awaited solution in her pocket, or is she just happy to see them?

Okay, you got my attention. Can I trouble you for an excerpt now?

No trouble at all. Here you go:

“I don't think that bed is quite big enough for four."
"No, I agree, I think three would be the top limit."
"We're not going to get into that again, Chad. I assure you."
"Sorry, I...."
Before he could make any excuses a knock sounded at the door. They both spun toward it, then stared wide-eyed at each other.
"Well, it's for one of us, anyway."
Chad opened it. Yes, this is more like it. Much.
Long blonde hair, strawberry blonde, in fact.Angelic face.Killer figure.Bosom to die for. Obviously, my date.
"Hello," he said.
"Hello."
"Please do come in. I'm Chad."
"Jeri. Jeri Lehr."
He scrambled to offer an explanation for the other woman in the room.
"Jeri, this is Linda. She's...." He hesitated. Ex-fiancée would have been the most accurate. "A friend. She's just waiting here, actually. She is expecting a date of her own."
"Very good to meet you, Linda." Jeri extended her hand. "You look ravishing.”
Taking Jeri's hand Linda blushed and managed to mutter “Thank you.”
Chad knew Linda could hardly miss the come on in Jeri’s eyes and the way she continued to hold her hand. How will she respond to another woman’s attentions?
Linda swallowed and took a step back, though without averting her eyes from Jeri’s gaze. "I won't be in your way long, I trust. I expect my date to come knocking any minute. Then we'll be on our way."
"Linda," Jeri answered calmly. "I'm your date."

There you have it, Gwendolyn Page, her new GBLT 1NightStand novelette out today, The Middlesex Suite. Available from Decadent Publishing.

Thank you, Gwen.
No, thank you, Gwen.

FINDING MY TARZAN (Or where do I get my Muses)

     Hello Gang!

I get asked a lot who are the muses for my stories. Are they anyone I know, someone I met on the street, blah, blah, blah. I get this question especially my family members. They always think they are in my stories. Truth be told—they aren’t that exciting.
I will tell you this. My heroes are a prototype of someone very close to me. My husband, Giuseppe. And this is so true for my latest book IT’S A JUNGLE OUT THERE, a story in the 1NightStand series. You see, like with most of my heroes in my books, I just look at my hubby and take the best parts of him and do a composite. For my latest book, I basically took a snapshot and Cut n’ Paste. LOL!
My character Maxwell Evans, is an actor. He’s introduced in my story, filming a scene for a Tarzan movie they are doing. He’s also thinking about the one nightstand he set up. He’s in full costume. Loincloth and jungle beads. Mmm. Nice.
Well, if you read the description of him (Buy the book, and you can get a blow by blow on the looks. LOL). he’s a carbon copy of my husband—just twelve years younger. But it’s how I remember meeting my Tarzan. It was over twenty-three years ago.
When I lived in Los Angles, I use to hang out at the Beverly Hills Wiltshire Hotel on Wednesdays. That’s the day they played free classical music. Anyone that knows me, knows I LOVE classical music and opera, especially since I sing opera. Different blog. Anyway, this particular Wednesday, I sat at my regular table. They served free finger food and wine at the time, too. I sat there listening to the music, I believe it was Mozart Night.
As I sat there the place was getting packed. Before I knew it, a man asked me if the seat at my table was taken. I looked up. WOW! Tall dark and handsome. ClichĂ©, I know. But the long dark hair and banging body nearly knocked me out of my seat.
His accent was thick, and dreamy.  He started flirting with me, even had the nerve to tell me he could teach me Italian in one night. Oh brother! I told him, in Italian that I spoke it just fine, and that he needed another line. But that didn’t deter him. He told me that he was actually Sicilian and that he could teach me Sicilian in one night instead. Sicilian is actually a different language.
I laughed and told him no thanks, but he was persistent. I was dating someone at the time, so he was of no interest to me. He gave his number anyway. I took it and tucked in my purse, just so I wasn’t rude.

Well flash forward six months. My boyfriend moved to the East Coast, which I wasn’t ready to do. During that time, there was a thing called the Renaissance Fair that was in town. These are fun. You dress up in Old English clothes, and go have a blast, like the used to in Merry Ole’ England. I wanted to go, but none of my friends or family members were available at the time. But guess what? I found Giuseppe’s number, still in my bag. I called him and asked if he would like to go. He said sure.
We got our costumes and off we went. We remained friends—very good friends ever since. We didn’t started dating until six years ago and got married five years ago. Needless to say, we’re tight.
So as you can see, this man swept me off my feet. It took only 23 years, but hey, good things come to those who wait. LOL!
So long story short (I know, too late LOL). All of my heroes stem from this good-looking man that caught my eye over two decades ago, and will continue to do so. IT’S A JUNGLE OUT THERE, I took the liberty to describe him more fully. You see, he used to be an International Bodybuilder too. He still works out and is still in shape. In fact, he looks better now in is 40’s!

I made a dedication in IT’S A JUNGLE OUT THERE. It says: To all the Janes looking for their Tarzan.
I found mine and never looked back.

Sex Dipped in Sugar by Stephanie Beck

“Steph, your books are always so sweet.”
Hearing that from my friends and readers is something I take a special pride in. I do like sweet romances. I like romance to be sexy and steamy, but I admit to thinking romance, like waffles, is better when covered in sugar.
Panties Optional made me stretch outside my chocolates and flowers comfort zone. Setting up strangers to indulge in a hot night on the premise of a dating service had never occurred to me, but it was definitely intriguing. It takes the right personality and circumstances for a person to follow through on something like that, so I was thrilled when Maggie Chase came to mind. Tough, sassy and horny-a trifecta of boldness. Sam Peterson with his quieter personality, yet inner strength and desire complimented Maggie perfectly.
With the sexy world of 1NightStand already set up, the rest of the story fell into play. The two were jumping into bed before I’d even decided what color eyes they had. The wild night of passion and sexy dares exploded under my finger tips and before I realized it, a genuinely sexy story had emerged. It took me a while to realize that it didn’t have much of my humor or sweetness in it. The characters didn’t possess the endearing faults I always try to find for them. Panties Optional was, and still is, sex on a stick—in eBook form.
I read and reread the story a few times and though I liked it I was startled at how not-me it was. I usually add plenty of hearts and flowers to my stories. This one was edgy and cosmopolitan. So, after much thought I took that erotic novella and I dipped it in sugar to make it more my taste. Panties Optional –sexy and sweet and just how I like my romance.

Excerpt:
“Maggie Chase?”
“That’s me,” she said, adjusting her purse higher on her shoulder. The big tote didn’t quite match her outfit, but the sexy clutch she preferred wouldn’t have held a change of clothes and her toothbrush.
“Follow me, please. Madame Evangeline has arranged for your caller to meet you in the lounge.”
Lounge. Which meant they were going to the super-fancy part of the Castillo. She loved how decadent she felt within the expensive, gorgeous walls of the hotel. Rare art and beautiful fabrics surrounded her at every corner. As an interior decorator, she recognized them for the treasures they were. Could they have held back on the gold plating? Sure, but it suited the hotel and Vegas lifestyle.
As they meandered through the crowd, Maggie wondered why she wasn’t more nervous. One-night stands and paid escorts never entered her normal strategies for getting laid. Not that she expected the guy waiting for her to be some gigolo, but still, hooking up with a stranger to get string-free sex should have felt at least a little wrong. And maybe it did. Maybe that little bit of naughty provided the catalyst making her so hot.
Her escort stopped short, and Maggie nearly tripped. She grabbed the booth end before she fell on her ass and embarrassed herself, while forcing her heels to stop before she impaled the poor man. The stilettos were tall and wickedly sharp. They were plain wicked, but that didn’t mean she wanted to draw blood with them.
“Mr. Peterson, allow me to introduce Ms. Chase. If either of you have a need, wave from here. I’ll be watching.”
With those instructions, the liaison walked away. Despite the dim light, Maggie could see the man across from her. A stranger. A hot stranger wearing a gray shirt too nice to be called casual but far from fussy. He stood and offered a hand, showing a slim-to-the-point-of-scrawny frame, but when he leaned forward, his face, lean like the rest of him, made her breath catch.

VEGAS TODAY newspaper interviews Jackson Castillo!

VEGAS TODAY
Las Vegas' interesting newspaper...
read by interesting people

Interviewer:  Vegas Today is pleased to interview the intensely private hotelier, Jackson Castillo, CEO of the Castillo Hotel and Resorts. Thank you for taking time out of your crazy schedule to speak with us. So…your flagship hotel is located right here in Sin City. And what a wonderful hotel it is. (Her gaze sweeps past Jackson, seated at his desk, to the amazing panoramic view of the Vegas Strip and desert beyond.)

Jackson:  Castillo Hotels and Resorts…known worldwide for their luxury and first-class service. (He clears his throat) Sorry. I love a good sound bite, I'm hardwired to promote. My wife, Leah, continually tells me to stop looking for every opportunity to plug the business. She feels I need balance in my life. He snorts.

Interviewer: Ah, yes! The hotels have taken a backseat to your recent nuptials! Congratulations.

Jackson frowns:  Absolutely nothing takes a backseat to this company. My family lives and breathes this—(Door opens behind him. He turns to look over his shoulder and blushes and stammers) Hello, mi amor.
A lovely, petite blonde woman steps behind him. She gives him a smile, full of the promises only a newlywed can offer, and kisses his cheek.  "Hello, Jackson."
She sets a small tray down on the desk between he and the interviewer and smiles again. Gina sent some tea and treats for you.
Jackson nods at the tray and says, My sister, Gina, is the head chef of our award-winning Cuban fusion restaurant. He gestures toward the lovely array of delicacies. Please, help yourself.

Interviewer: Treats is right. I believe Gina studied with the esteemed Cuban chef, Emilio Diaz for…five years was it? He even turned down Oprah's plea for him to be her personal chef. The interviewer frowns in disbelief with a nobody-turns-down-Oprah look on her face. The interviewer leans forward and takes a lovely bit from the tasty offerings on the tray. Taking a bite, she sighs at the buttery bliss of Latin pastry.

Leah:  Yes, Gina learned from the very best. Jackson says we only got her back because he promised to open a hotel in Cuba. Once that happens, she'll go and we'll be without her again. Not that we blame her. Eyes wide, she slaps a hand over her mouth. Oh, I’m sorry, Jackson.

Jackson reaches for his bride and tugs her onto the arm of his chair, his arm curling around her waist with more than a touch of possessiveness: It’s fine, mi amor. I am certain our guest knows that if this early information is not edited, it will be a very long time before another interview is given. He pats her hip while staring right into the camera.

Interviewer: I’m certain we can reach an understanding. Is it possible that Vegas Today  might be given an exclusive when the news is…more timely?

Jackson smiles and the interviewer tries, maybe somewhat unsuccessfully, not to swoon. He's a handsome devil—who only has eyes for his wife, this interviewer rushes to add.  When we are ready to announce the groundbreaking, perhaps you would like to assist us with that?

Interviewer (clearing her throat): That would be most gratifying. Now, on another topic, since we have Mrs. Castillo here…could you share with us a bit about your honeymoon?

Leah flushes deep pink and turns toward Jackson: Our honeymoon, oh, I don’t think…

Jackson, gives her a warm squeeze, his lips turning up in the trademark Castillo smile: My dear, I believe our guest refers to our travel details, yes? He addresses the camera, We combined business with pleasure, and I took the opportunity to show my bride several of our properties in Europe as well as New York City. We also visited a potential site on another continent…but that’s all I can say about that for now.

Interviewer: What a delightful honeymoon! Mrs. Castillo, was there anywhere you enjoyed more than any other?

Leah: Honestly, we didn’t see much outside of our rooms. She covers her mouth again and glances at her husband with a horrified Oh-Darling-I'm-Sorry stare. He nods and pats her leg with a look of acceptance and nods for her to continue. She blushes and says, But it was all very lovely. She stands abruptly and turns toward the door. I really must go, but it’s been a pleasure. She waves toward the camera. It does not escape the interviewer's notice that she shares a long, lingering stare with her husband. The interviewer hides an envious sigh.

Jackson smiles, his gaze sending a clear message this necessary interview would be over post haste: I will be with you shortly, mi amor. We are almost done here.

Interviewer (clearing her throat and pretending she isn't a voyeur): Absolutely, I only have a few more questions for Mr. Castillo. I’m so glad I got the opportunity to visit with you, Mrs. Castillo.

Leah: Thanks. Turning back to her husband she blows a kiss. Don’t forget we have dinner with Jag, darling. He has to leave in the morning.

Jackson: I won’t forget. He watches her with love and want in his gaze as she smiles and leaves, closing the door softly after her.

Interviewer: Before I go, I would love to hear about your brother, Jagger, isn’t it? He’s in charge of another of your resorts I believe.

Jackson nods:  Jagger is in charge of our resort on Grand Turk. It’s the jewel of our tropical holdings and I hope you have a chance to visit there sometime.

Interviewer: I hope I do as well. The Castillo family is certainly a talented group, you must be so proud of your relatives.

Jackson: More than I can say. Now, I must be going. I don’t want to keep my wife, or my brother, waiting. He stands and moves toward the door, ending the interview. May I walk you out? His hand rests on the doorknob and he tilts his head, his sensual gaze meeting the interviewer's. The interview is most definitely over.

Interviewer, taking the hint, rises: Thank you, this has been a very enjoyable afternoon. She exits with her notepad and crew and wishes like hell she'd met Jackson Castillo before the lovely Leah had. Once in the elevator, she turns toward her camerawoman, Helen, and mutters, Damn, that is one sexy man!

Jackson Castillo, wife Leah and the rest of his family can be found throughout the popular Decadent Publishing 1Night Stand series. Find out what the buzz is all about!

Fairy Casanova released today!

How did I come up with Fairy Casanova? The story behind the story is kind of boring actually. Fairy Casanova was one of those stories that wrote itself, the perfect story for us writers.

I was between books when the call for the 1NightStand stories came from Decadent. My muse—named DM—was antsy, wanting to write, but not eager to start the next book in the Road to Hell series until we knew changes made to Pandora’s Box were approved. If you read any of my Facebook wall posts, then you know DM is an evil genius I have a love/hate relationship with. He is definitely the devil on my shoulder and he was driving me nuts with inactivity. And there’s nothing worse than a writer with nothing to write!

Then the 1NightStand story call came from Decadent. I’d never written anything so short and nothing based totally on sex, but I loved the guidelines. Simple, yet fun, pure genius from the crafters! I didn’t know if I could write such a short story, but I looked at it as a challenge. Something fun to attempt and an easy way to flex my writing skills. It also gave DM some constructive focus, a plus when you have a fidgety muse on your hands. I figured if my 1NS story took on a life of its own and outgrew the 12k word limit, then I’d nix the 1NS parameters and submit it to DP as a stand-alone story. Committed to the project, my next step was deciding on the storyline.

The names of the characters popped into my head right away…Sadie and Jace. It’s fantastic when characters name themselves! I was contemplating a fairy tattoo at the time, so I knew immediately Jace needed to be a fairy and I’d never written about fairies either, so it was another fun challenge thrown into the mix. Sadie was my only glitch. DM insisted she needed to be running from something and desperate for a night of escapism. But what? I decided to throw in something I knew a little bit about, the legal world. I’m a paralegal and I know how attorneys throw their heart and soul into a case. It was easy imagining Sadie betting her career and reputation on one big case, and then needing to escape her real-world trials when she’d lost everything.

And there you have it…Fairy Casanova was born.

Sadie has hit rock bottom. A high-powered attorney on the fast-track to creating a name, she bet everything on one case and lost big. Bankrupt, with her professional reputation ruined, and her fiancé yachting about Aruba with a hot babe, she's desperate for a break from reality. She arranges a one-nighter with a complete stranger through Madame Evangeline's high-end dating service, 1NightStand. A fairy isn't what she expected to hook-up with, but how can she be disappointed when royalty turns into the only king of sex she'll ever want?

In less than a week, Jace is about to become king of the fairies, but he's enamored with humans. Before his coronation, he wants to fulfill his sexual fantasies in the human realm. With a limited timeline, he schedules a liaison with a stranger through 1NightStand.com. Sadie intrigues him with her competing reserved and salacious vibes. After a night of stellar sex, Jace offers Sadie a permanent place in his life as his queen. Will she forfeit her life in the human realm to accept his offer?

“The dress is perfect. You are perfect.” He kissed her without fanfare, and she melted against him. Any thought of resisting his aggressive embrace fled as he parted her lips with his and plunged his tongue inside. The wet glide of his osculation affected her as much as a shot of hard liquor, a sizzling burn spreading from the pit of her belly and settling lower. Sadie groaned when he playfully nipped her bottom lip. “I’m going to peel your garment from your body, slowly”—she groaned again at the vivid imagery—”and taste every inch of your human flesh.”

EXCERPT

Human flesh?

She froze against his body. What a strange thing to say.

Sadie leaned back to stare at him. “You don’t think you’re…human?” She hesitated uttering the word human for fear of his answer.

“I’m not human.”

The response she’d feared receiving.

“Madame Evangeline didn’t impart I’m a fairy?”

She blinked, tried to process the information, and failed. “Mmhmm…a fairy?” Her stomach pitched to the floor. “Really? Wow.” Finally, she understood how her request had come into play. She’d checked off otherworldly, not expecting much more than someone who believed in aliens or something equally eccentric. But a sexy fairy, ready to be her one-night stand…He didn’t really expect her to believe that, did he? She lived and breathed balderdash in the courtroom, and she could sniff out lies better than a hound dog could sniff out quarry. “You’re a fairy? Give me a break.”

“It’s true.”

Sadie glared at him, any amusement she might have felt shifting straight into irritation. “How fantastic for you.” And horrifying for me!

Visions of Mahalia Levey

A sweet author emailed me the detail sheet for this series and suggested that I think about penning a fun story in addition to a host of other talented authors. Honored of course, how could I say no? Once I read the detail sheet my mind began to spin a mile a minute. I had so many questions about the absolute parts needing mentioned in all the stories. All this coming from a panslotter, my term for being half a panster and half a plotter meshed well.

Once I had a road map I was off and running with names and possibilities running through my mind. I dinged the editor to ask the locations of the ones submitted and gave a lot of thought to where I wanted ‘my’ magical one night stand to happen. It couldn’t be just any one night stand, I had to challenge the aspects of the detail sheet and manipulate them to my advantage to bring both a light fun loving weekend and an endearing special time spent proving unforgettable. How then could I do that in Vegas, or in California, In the States period?

I couldn’t. I wanted a tiny island paradise for two lovers to forget their personal biases and to find magic in the unknown, even for a fleeting moment, because one fleeting feeling is worth its weight in gold in comparison to never experiencing greatness. From then on I let the word weaving begin and watched the vibrant visions in my mind take shape on paper.

I invite you, summon you even. C’mon see just how things turn out for Bekah and Ashton on this paradise adventure. Oh! It’s not free. The buy link is at the bottom of the page! Happy Reading.

In this he finds the perfect opportunity to downplay who he is and become a regular type of guy.

Log: Two people out to prove nobody can pull one over on them ... little do they know just one glance can burn through their skepticism.

Excerpt:

If she’d thought she suffered from butterflies coming into the establishment, entering the Aqua Lounge was much worse. She cast a surreptitious glance at the bar, her eyes widening at the sublime man chatting easily with the bartender. It was all Bekah could do not to fall over or drool. He presented a side pose, his relaxed shirt fitting the contours of his broad shoulders and back. Land sakes, when he stood up, she got the most delicious view of his ass. And what an ass it was—nice, round, and muscular. He stuck his hand in his pocket and shrugged at something the bartender said. She eyeballed him for all she was worth, getting the ogling out of the way. One glance was all she wrote. She hadn’t expected her date to be ultra hot. If not for her drenched panties, gravity would’ve pulled her cream along the inner seam of her thighs. The dĂ©cor of the lounge fell away. Honed in on her date, she sashayed her way across the floor, adding a little bounce to her step, her breasts jiggling. The stool next to him remained unoccupied. She smoothed her kimono-style sundress to mid-thigh.

“Ashton.” Where did her normal voice go, and when did she start speaking in such an earthy tone. Hands clasped ladylike in her front of her, holding onto her pocketbook. Her breath came out in a swoosh when he turned to face her. A burning warmth filled the sexiest eyes, and not just any brown, but the color of milk chocolate, a shade lighter than her skin tone.

“Bekah, we finally meet,” He extended his hand to take hers. She accepted his hand and let out a startled sound of surprise, ill prepared for the jolt of awareness humming from such brief contact.

“Yes, we did…do.” She fell over her tongue, color rising in her cheeks. Boy, did she feel hot. He broke out in the sexiest smile—lordy above, a perfect smile—and her name all but purred from his mouth. He could call her Bekah anytime.

“You okay?”

“Peachy keen.” She licked her lips and studied him from under her lashes.

“Would you like a cocktail?”

“Can we just go straight to shots?”

“Nervous?”

His teasing demeanor made him all the more attractive. His manners pleased her, as well, when he stood, showing her his height, and pulled out her barstool. She sat, and he returned to his position on the stool next to her, his gaze never leaving hers, until she had to break eye contact to gather her thoughts. He inspired instant hot, naked, orgasmic fantasies. A flicker of question crossed his features, pulling her back to the present. Fantasy in check she smiled. “Very.”

“Me too,” Ashton said, motioning for the bartender.

“Really? You have such confidence about you.” She found herself relaxing, and hoped her mic caught all their byplay. When he leaned over to whisper in her ear, her first reaction was to pull back, but his warm hand settled over hers, brushing in gentle sweeps. She gulped in anticipation.

“I half thought you would run the other way when you entered.” The bartender approached and wiped her hands on a towel. “Two shots of coconut rum.” Ashton kept his eyes on Bekah while he ordered, pinning her with his gaze.

“The thought did cross my mind.” She didn’t admit the gravitational pull demanded she park her ass right next to him. “Being paired with you astonished me. I wasn’t expecting the full package, you could say.” Bekah took the shot of rum and raised it to his. “To new people.”

“Cheers.”

They tossed their shots, and Bekah licked a drop that lingered on her lips. Her date’s nostrils flared as he watched. She inhaled in a shallow breath and fought to clear the fog hazing her self-control. Seduction at that moment wasn’t planned. Yet, as his face descended toward hers, she didn’t pull away but leaned forward to meet his lips. Awareness spiked to new levels as he kissed her with masterful control, easing her mouth apart to taste her. Under his spell, she drowned and placed her hands on his shoulders for an anchor. He tasted of whiskey. Just as she got used to his delicious invasion, he broke the kiss with an abrupt halt. Shaken, she witnessed him rein himself in. Had he lost control with just a kiss? Hell, she was stuck for words her damn self. Flushed with arousal, she brought her eyes level with his.

What’s this…an Erotic Romance without hanky panky? Is it possible?

 By Stacey Kennedy

I’m here to tell you it is! When I first came up with the idea of writing a story for 1NS , I knew I wanted to step out of my normal urban fantasy/ paranormal romance comfort zone and push myself into unknown territory. Where that brought me was into the world of BDSM!  Oh, hell yes!
Let me tell you this story shocked even me! I’m a typical romance gal, adore a good love story and even though FOREVER BOUND does have a sweet little romance in it, the heat left me thinking about this story for days on end.

Josie and Gavin introduced me to a world of naughtiness. Which leads me to my earlier question, can an erotic story have no shagging? Well, just ask Josie and Gavin and they will say it can! There are only a few times in this story that Gavin actually touches her, and it’s not in ways you think. You won’t find sweet embraces, no getting to second base, or typical “love making”. Think demands, vibrators and rope—yes, now I have your attention.
Was it a challenge to write a sexy scene where none of the typical rules of getting down and dirty apply?  Not likely.  Gavin is an expert Dom and has many tricks up his sleeve to bring Josie to unknown pleasures. And by the end of the story, my cheeks burned, heart raced, and I was left hunting down my husband! Without further ado, here is a little peek at my sexy erotic tale.

Josie Harper had boyfriends, lovers, and even friends with benefits. None of them could satisfy her. Something had always been missing—something she was now desperate to find.
Gavin Scott longed for the perfect submissive. A woman worthy of the gift he could give to her as a Dom. Most failed to meet his expectations and he’d all but given up hope.
A high class match-maker in Las Vegas brings Josie and Gavin together. Tonight, Gavin will introduce Josie to the world of BDSM. As he skillfully guides her through the experience, Josie isn’t the only one captivated. Gavin is in awe of her control, someone this new to the lifestyle shouldn’t possess this great of a talent.
During their journey, Josie will find the missing piece of her soul and Gavin will meet the woman who was born to submit to him.

EXCERPT:
Josie Harper’s nerves were rattled. She’d never expected to have to hire someone to see her fantasies met. Sometimes, though, life doesn’t turn out how one expects it.

There had been plenty of boyfriends, lovers, and even friends with benefits in her life. None, though, could satisfy her. Not only in life, but sexually. Something had always been missing, something she needed to find. Those were the reasons she flew from Dallas to Las Vegas and why she stood in the elevator at the Castillo Resort and Hotel. The night may drain her savings account, one she’d added to over the twenty-five years of her life, but it didn’t matter. Not anymore. Sick of feeling unhappy, tired of not experiencing fulfillment, she’d been left with no other choice.

The question needed to be answered, Is BDSM meant for me?
She’d looked into her options for her self-discovery experiment, and had come across all sorts of avenues. Should she join a club with others who lived the BDSM lifestyle? She’d run across personal ads in the local newspaper and even classes offering to teach novices. But Madame Eve’s 1NightStand solution offered the most privacy.

Josie’s interests…well, she hadn’t quite figured them out yet. The idea of being dominated appealed to her. Images of being bound to a table while being spanked created heat between her thighs. But were these just fantasies or did she want to live the lifestyle?
Josie’d spent a good part of a day filling out a questionnaire given to her by 1NightStand detailing what she wanted, and even needed, from the experience. Had informed the woman of things she’d do and not do so the Dom would understand her limits.

Days after she’d faxed the questionnaire back, Josie received an email from Madame Eve confirming she’d made a match for her. The illusive Madame Eve found her a man to lead her into undiscovered territory?

It appeared she had. Was she ready to do this now? Push all her reservations aside and have the naughty sex which only lived in her dreams? Doubt nagged her. What else could be expected? The situation was new to her and not what anyone would call normal. She’d come for a reason though. She couldn’t let unease make her act stupidly.

She pushed away the fear and straightened her shoulders. The email stated for her to go to the fourth floor, room 412. They’d have complete privacy since the floor would be free of guests, and the room soundproofed, but a telephone would be available in case she became uneasy and needed a safety net.
As the elevator came to a stop, she stood for so long she wondered if she’d lost her nerve. None of that. Stepping through the open doors, she blew out a long, deep breath to gather herself.
Each step felt like a lifetime. What type of man would Gavin be? Handsome? Powerful? Butterflies whipped through her stomach at the images playing in her mind.

Reaching the last door on the right, she stopped and drew in a sharp breath. She’d come for a reason and no matter how much hesitation she felt, she forced herself to open the door.

The scene before her was not at all what she’d expected to find. Yes, she wanted ropes, but this hadn’t been what she meant—two waist-high steel poles with a rope strung between them, stretched from one side of the bare room to the other. She wondered what would take place there, with its walls painted a crimson red and candles scattered throughout on black satin covered tables.

The only other items in the room, a large rope resting on the hardwood floor, along with a smaller one, and one hanging from the ceiling with a loop clamp on it. As much as she tried to come up with a reason for all this, her thoughts just couldn’t wrap around it. She’d thought of flogging, leather, chains, bondage. Never just ropes in a stark room. For the life of her, she didn’t understand what she faced. Just as her mind threatened to run away with her, the door handle jiggled behind her, and she turned as it opened. A man, smooth and confident, entered the room.

Madame Eve had picked her perfect match indeed, everything her dreams were made of and more. Tanned and shirtless, with hard lines of muscles, dressed in a pair of dark jeans, he looked delicious. His outfit not at all what she’d expected, leather pants would have been more appropriate. Not saying his attire displeased her—he looked spectacular.

Dark hair covered his forehead in a wispy way, and deep chocolate eyes spoke of the pleasure awaiting her. Her heart thumped in her chest. The hesitation she experienced earlier, fled. His poise, the subtle way he held himself, comforted her.

Tonight, he’d be her Dom and she craved to submit.
***
Gavin longed for the perfect submissive. A woman worthy of the gift he could give her. He went to the clubs in the Las Vegas area, assisted other Doms in learning how to handle their subs, but it hadn’t gotten him anywhere close to finding his own fulfillment. When he’d heard of Madame Eve’s 1NightStand, he’d jumped on it. He didn’t believe she would find him his happily ever after. Curiosity made him act.

It’d been two years since he’d last had a submissive and he couldn’t see that changing any time soon. Not to say the women he’d met hadn’t been exquisite in their own right. The connection, the roar to own someone else but have them captivating enough for him to hold their wants over his own, didn’t exist. In truth, he hadn’t met anyone deserving of it. Most failed to meet his expectations. He’d been a demanding Dom and had yet to meet a woman he could push as far as he wanted.

It left him unsatisfied.

Madame Eve emailed to say she had a perfect match for him and gave him enough insight on Josie to give him an idea of how he should set up the scene. He wondered if Madame Eve had indeed filled her obligation, if Josie might be a perfect match for him, though he doubted it. Nevertheless, he indulged in the experience.

Standing before Josie, shock made him stop. In all his time as a Dom to new people who wanted to learn about the lifestyle, none of them looked like her.

Long, dirty blonde hair surrounded a gorgeous face. Her blue eyes, wide with innocence, stared at him. He questioned if he’d entered the right room. The woman looked like a girl next door, not the typical type he encountered. With flushed cheeks as though embarrassed, her pouty mouth held a nervous smile.

Truth was Madame Eve had given him an extensive knowledge of Josie’s limits. Hearing the woman wanted to be bound by ropes hadn’t surprised him, yet seeing Josie, timid and trembling, did. He arched an eyebrow. “Josie?”

She nodded shyly. “You’re Gavin, right?”

Excitement coursed through him at her acknowledgment. To most, it’d be her perfect-ten figure to bring forth arousal. Not for Gavin. For him, the sweet note about her, her gentleness showing the need to please is what held his interest. It wouldn’t have shocked him to hear she was a straight A student in college and lived by the book in every regard. Always said the right thing, did the right thing, and behaved as the general public would want her to.

However, he witnessed the barrier she held up. The front she erected around herself to always please the ones around her. To be what others thought she should be. All of these things enthralled him. She wanted to please, but also wanted to release the untamed beast inside her.

Honor touched his soul to be granted the right to assist her. Locking the door behind him, he dropped the bag slung over his shoulder and approached her. As he drew closer, her breathing deepened and the blush on her cheeks grew.

He’d set up the scene earlier that evening, keeping in mind she’d never experienced BSDM before. The scene before them would introduce her to the lifestyle on her own terms. Yes, he would have a part in the experience, but he would seek no pleasure for himself.

Not to say he wouldn’t find it pleasurable. Watching Josie would give him the satisfaction he longed for. But he’d do so from the sidelines. Enjoy watching her discover the part of her soul she was eager to find.
