Just What She Wants

Buy Just What She Wants HERE!

By Barbara Elsborg
Holiday stories always give me that warm feeling inside. Maybe it’s because Christmas in particular is a time when we expect to be happy or at least make others happy. My first 1NS story brought two people together on New Year’s Eve through a car crash. In my second story – Just What She Wants - Indie is trying her best to escape Christmas but discovers it’s so not easy to escape happiness.
The story was inspired by the magnificent Christmas tree in Orlando International airport. Think it’s a little too large to fit in my house, even if I took the roof off.
The blurb:
With a name like hers, Indiana Jones knows she ought to be adventurous and daring but when she’s tricked into taking a vacation on her own, and discovers she’s staying at a swinging resort, she wants to spend the week in her room. But the place is run by two of the most tempting men she’s ever seen. She could have just what she wants and no one would ever know.
Marc finds it hard to see his partner Kyle in physical and mental anguish but if the guy won’t talk about it, what can he do? Finding a third might be the answer and he has just the woman in mind, unless she runs off before he can make her smile.
Crippled and depressed, Kyle can’t even kiss his partner and wonders why the guy puts up with him. If only he could let the past go and move on. Maybe, just maybe, an intriguing guest will show him the way.
Any favourite or not so favourite names? My daughter has just called her baby, Jackson Indiana Davies. Guess what films she and her husband liked!
Please leave a comment telling me a name you like and why and one lucky person will win a copy of Just What She Wants.

  1. I seem to get hung up on names starting with J, so I adore the name Jackson. I also love this story. Just What She Wants is just what the reader wants. Congrats on another fantastic release, Barb.

  3. I have to be bias lol When we were pregnant (7 years ago) we wanted a family name but one that would be different and work for either sex. We ended up naming our son Dakota Lee. Lee is a family name and Dakota fit what we wanted and shows my hubbys Native American heritage.

Congrats on the new release, I am looking forward to it!

  4. I like Jake. I don't know why. It sounds like a rugged, laid-back, loyal guy. And of course, he's hot. :-) Congrats on the new release! I just love your stories, so I look forward to this one, too.

    1. I do like Jake! I'd have called my son Jake BUT Jake Elsborg - sounds like jackal - so we didn't! You have to be careful with some surnames. I like Karl too but Karl Elsborg sounds like Carlsberg lager!

  5. I have a lot of J names (Josh, Jared, Jake, Jeff) for my heroes, and C, K, or L names for my heroines. I'm not sure why. Those are just the names that pop into my head. I had two Jakes, but had to change one of them so as not to get confused.

Congrats on your new release, Barbara! :)

    1. Thanks, Jessica. I like K names too. I keep using Kate - Cate - Caitlin - Katya. And your Js work for me too. I'm really picky about names. They have to be exactly right or the story won't flow!

  6. I wanted to name my son Thorne Blake but was shot down by my mother-in-law and ended up naming him Paul Blake. Still like the sound of Thorne Blake tho LOL.

    1. I like Thorne! It sounds like a business man's name - or a vampire. LOL. I might have to steal that one!

    1. Thank you. I haven't heard of Chandler as a girl's name? Does it work both ways then? I've used Rose in a short story about a witch!!

    2. it's pronounced as "sheer" or "shear". sometimes my name gives me a hard time when people can't either spell it or say it. :) still happy though that i don't have anyone with the same name. XD

  10. I've always liked the name "Blake". For some reason, it just sounds like the guy would have to be sexy.

  11. Names are so hard to get right. I love strong names but have issues with names that begin with 'x' or 'q' lol. I'd tell you what some of my fave names are but I'm saving them for my writing project!

Congrats on the new book! And thank you for the giveaway!

    1. LOL - yep, when we find names we want to keep them. I called my son Greg and was LIVID when my friend - who had her boy three weeks before me and had NEVER said anything about liking the name Greg - called her son that.

    1. Your kids? Best friends? Sisters? Your names? I like names for girls that end in a 'y' sound. Course mine doesn't. My mother planned to call me Fiona but when I was born said I wasn't a Fiona - I never knew what that meant!
