Light Bulb Moments

Never Too Late available HERE
By Mia Catherine

People often talk of light bulb moments. Most of us have had at least one in our lifetime. If you haven't, just wait, it's worth it.

I've had many such moments. The most recent of which was just this past weekend while listening to a man speak. He was a missionary from Central America, telling of the conditions he's experienced during his travels. Granted, not all revelations are as startling as comparing life in the suburbs of the United States to the Guatemalan jungle, but I literally saw the light turn on (the sun broke through the clouds and shone in my eyes).

It's so easy to take things for granted. When I was single, I prayed for a spouse. Then I got married, and couldn't wait for children. I now have three boys and can't wait for school to start each fall. How often do we stop and appreciate what we have? If I'm honest, I'd say I do, but not nearly as often as I could or should.

Being complacent is a habit so many develop. But what happens when that complacency begins to destroy what you hold dear? A husband comes home from a long day of work, but hardly says a word to his wife. A wife spends all her time with the kids but has no energy for her husband. How many relationships disintegrate due to neglect?

In Never Too Late, Sam and Katie have made these mistakes, and paid the price. Too wrapped up in their individual challenges, their marriage resulted in divorce. Now both are ready to move on, but Madame Eve has arranged a light bulb moment. Given the opportunity, will they take the chance?

  1. We should all have these moments every now and again to remind us of what we have - you're right.
