Smexy Men in Sunny Puerto Rico

Who doesn’t love to ogle and see beautiful, sexy men on the beach? When one goes to Puerto Rico, the hunks are in abundance and always friendly.
I decided what better place to center my story, where I know the culture, climate and the people. La Isla del Encanto.
Tropical Paradise is the journey of Leo and Skyler- men who lost their way, but with the help of Madame Eve and the 1Night Stand, are able to find each other again.

Have you found your one and only?

Leave a comment and don’t forget your email address so Decadent can send a copy of Tropical Paradise to the winner.

Favorite Reading Spot

One of my favorite memories of my mom is how important summer reading was to her. As soon as school finished, we would go to our local bookstore and stock up. Mom encouraged me to make a special reading spot I could go to escape into other worlds and adventures. She said it should be quiet where I couldn’t be bothered…ah…interrupted by anything or anyone. Her favorite spot was in a rocking chair under a tree in front of our cottage at the lake. She always had a TBR pile that would make any author proud.  To this day, Mom still reads A LOT and I have my favorite reading spot.
Well… when I’m not writing it is also my reading spot. When we built our log home in the woods, I designed our 8’x60’ porch to be an extension of our living space. We spend time on the porch in all weather watching birds, doing crafts, puzzles, games, eating socializing and of course reading (and writing).

Tables, chairs and décor came from scouring rummage sales. Hubby made the newest table from old deck wood. A few cushions and pillow add to comfort. My reading spot is not far from the grill master of the house. Sometimes the kids join me otherwise they keep their rambunctious activities in the yard.
I often see neighbors sitting on their porches or under a tree reading. Friends post photos on line of reading poolside while their kids are busy.

Do you have a favorite spot to escape to?  Where is your reading spot?

Life Lessons I Learned From My Kittens

Rascal the Mighty

by Olivia Starke

It’s summer time on my little farm, and this year we welcomed a few new little additions to our menagerie. They’re furry, feisty, and a whole lot of trouble, though definitely worth it. Kittens are balls of energy, ready to take on the world, and pretty much exist to love every second of being alive. While watching them play, I can’t help but appreciate the way every day is a grand adventure. Every second of being awake is an exploration and an opportunity to discover something new. It’s crazy how such little creatures not even two months old can remind someone of what being alive really is about. Here is the list I hope others can take to heart as well.

You don’t need fancy things to have fun! A leaf or piece of straw, and a bit of imagination, and you’ll have the time of your life.

Even if things are dark and rainy, live like it doesn’t matter! Even if things aren’t perfect, life goes on, and play on to spite it.

Never underestimate how wonderful it is to cuddle with those you love. You’ll appreciate the extra warmth and security it provides.

Be fascinated by the little things, even if you’ve seen them dozens of times. A shift in sunlight and its brand new, and worth a good inspection!

If something scares you, puff up, and stalk toward it anyway. You may find bravery wins out against any adversary, including a ferocious clump of grass!

So this post is dedicated to my little wonders: Rascal, Rebel, Callie, Ramone, Pete, and precious Itty Bitty who, unfortunately, didn’t make it (though he lived every second with the biggest heart and belief that everything was AWESOME.)

When Abigail Winter’s stepsister sets her up with 1Night Stand, she can’t deny she needs a night away from the constant worry. Her cat rescue A Purrfect Home is in danger of closing, and she’s nearly out of options. Her date, Carlita, is gorgeous with soft curves that leave Abigail hungry for a taste. A perfect and passionate distraction for the evening.
Carlita Menedez is thrilled when she first lays eyes on her date, Abigail. Beautiful, and an animal lover, who more perfect for a former veterinarian? Her lithe form proves irresistible, and her kisses incredible. Their chemistry sizzles and when they come together, they find pure bliss in one another’s arms.
But disaster steals their night, and A Purrfect Home may already be lost. Will Carlita be the one person who can help Abigail save everything she’s worked so hard for?

Excerpt:
Thunder boomed louder, jarring the windows, echoing her pounding heart. Carlita met her gaze and Abigail couldn’t resist reaching out and taking one of her ebony curls, letting the silken texture slip through her fingertips. The simple act did obscene things, a tight ache settled between her thighs. Abigail cupped the other woman’s cheek. “What do you think? Can two strangers like us have a passionate one night affair?”
Carlita’s tongue darted out, moistening her lips, her brown eyes smoldering. A tantalizing tease.
“I think it’s why we’re here, right?”
What an unsatisfying answer. She had to know for sure the other woman felt the same as she did. She stroked her thumb over Carlita’s bottom lip. “Do you want me?”
Carlita looked away and Abigail’s confidence faltered. What if the chemistry was one sided? God, it’d been years since she’d dated, and she’d never been good at reading body signals. To top it off, she was feeling pretty desperate; never a good thing while figuring someone else out. She took a deep breath, ready to back off. Carlita covered her hand with her own before she could pull away and moved the platter with the cheesecake to the nightstand.
“I want you to kiss me, Ab—”
Abigail moved before she could finish the sentence. Carlita’s lips were soft, yielding to the urgency of her kiss. She pulled her forward until Carlita straddled her thighs, the kiss deepening, their tongues meeting in foreplay. She tasted of chocolate, champagne, and desire, a delicious combination, and Abigail couldn’t get enough. Abigail stroked the smooth skin of her exposed back, feeling her muscles moving while Carlita worked the buttons on her blouse. When the other woman palmed Abigail’s breasts through her cotton bra, the heat within her bloodstream turned to liquid fire. She yanked the halter ties to Carlita’s dress, fumbling with the knot.
“Damn it.” The ties wouldn’t give. More than anything she wanted those incredible breasts free to bury her face between them. Live out one of the fantasies she’d been denied all night.
“Oh god, I’m sorry,” Carlita said as grabbed the ties, trying to help. “I didn’t want to fall out. I tightened it into a double knot.”
Abigail gave up and let her work the knot, taking advantage of having free hands.

A Bunny Class Reunion

A Different Class
Character: Glenn

FDR High Class of 2004 graduate, Glenn Carson contacts fellow alumni to get a list of who will be attending the upcoming festivities. One call to a disgruntled former student leaves him shaken—apparently, not everyone is looking forward to the reunion. Hoping to ease his frustration, he contacts the 1Night Stand service for a relaxing and passionate encounter.
Known as “Mumbles” to former classmates, Rod Maloney would prefer to focus on the present and his successful business. However, past tragedies continue to haunt him, so he requests Madame Eve find him a man to show him a hot time and help him forget his troubles.
Will their one night together lead to a reunion after all?

Welcome back 1NightStanders! Today we have a special guest, Glenn Carson, who’s successful just survived his first class reunion and 1Night Stand. Welcome, Glenn. Please tell us a little about yourself.

Hiya, great to be here. J
Well, in short I am a teacher at a private school in northern Florida, and recently I served on the reunion committee of my alma mater, Franklin D. Roosevelt High. I have some fond memories of FDR High, some not so fond, but I got out alive and it’s all the matters.

The 1Night Stand thing…heh. It came recommended to me by a friend. She found her soul mate that way, but I was just looking for something fun to help me recover from planning a reunion. I have to tell you, it worked. J

When I went to my class reunion, it was utter chaos. No, really, it was. All hell broke loose. We had demons dipping naked in the lava pool at the school and streaking down the halls. The cheerleaders were all horny, but then again, you show me a succubus that isn’t and I’ll show you an imposter. What a night! Of course we’re suppossed to get together sometime after the Apocalypse, but you know how that goes. I wonder if the four horsemen will be there? At the reunion, not the Apocalypse. You know what they say, an Apocalypse just isn’t an Apocalypse without the horsemen.

Should be interesting to see what everyone has been up to. Oh, the memories....

*Blinks* Oh, your interview. I digress. You get me going on the glory days and I just get so excited. Back then, Bunny could bring in a legion of souls a day with a little shake of her tail. Probably still could, but I’ve learned to work smarter instead of harder.

The interview...right.

So, why a 1Night Stand. Why did you seek the services of matchmaker, Madame Eve?

You know, I’ve had relationships with other men, and they didn’t seem to go anywhere. When my friend told me about 1Night Stand, I figured it might be a good slate cleaner, you know? I go on an overnight date with a hot guy, have some sexy fun, and come home recharged. Maybe if I like the guy enough, we can meet up later? I didn’t really know what to expect going in, and the information enticed me to sign up. While I didn’t talk to Madame Eve directly, she seemed really nice in the e-mails when she set it up for me.

How long have you known Rod Maloney?

Here’s the thing – we went to the same school, but we weren’t in the same circles. Friends knew him, and I suppose I knew “of” him back then. He was a guy I passed in the halls. Ten years later, I’m looking at the yearbook and I see his picture. I couldn’t imagine why I didn’t talk to him then, he was gorgeous!

Did you two have a thing in school? Was there more than one reunion going on?

Alas, no. I found out later Rod has his own thing going on. I didn’t date anybody in school. I knew who I was then, and it was difficult to meet guys there.

What prerequisites did you ask for in your “perfect” date?

I told Madame Eve that I liked dominant men. Not necessarily BDSM, but men who take charge of a situation and show a bit of aggression in bed. I like excitement. J

Was he everything you’d hoped for?

Ohhhh, yes. Rod did things to me that…ahem, well, maybe you should read about them in the story.

Okay, time to move on to the quickies, because let’s be honest, everyone loves a quickie. You ready?

Go!

How tall does he have to be to get on the ride?

At least six feet.

Blond or Brunet?

No difference – dark, light, red… it’s all good.

Favorite male feature? Go ahead say it. I won’t judge.

I’m a leg man, tighter the better. ;-)

Boxers or Briefs?

Either…puddled on the floor somewhere.

Have you ever had a threesome? Want to? What? Don’t look at me like that. I know your gay, but Bunny isn’t dead.

LOL. I’ll admit I’ve thought about it, but I think that’s something for the fantasy vault. I just like going one on one.

Okay, you don’t know what you’re missing.
*Glances at watch.*
That’s all our time for today. For the tell-all exclusive of Glen and Rod’s date, you can purchase the story here:

Keeping the Romance Going

This month I’m revisiting another pair of my beloved characters, Corbin and Matt from Starting Over. Their story was my second one written as part of the 1 Night Stand Series and my first published M/M story. I enjoyed writing about these two very special men and their path toward healing internal issues from their pasts. It was a second chance at love, a coming out, and a fairly hot romantic discovery.

Here’s another look at the story’s blurb and a quick glimpse into their lives today. I’m also offering a contest in honor of my two heroes. Be sure to read all the way to the end of the post.

BLURB:
A virgin gay man, Corbin is finally ready to ease into his new lifestyle, still, making the move scares him shitless. He’d spent years fantasizing about embracing his true self, but what had possessed him to agree to a 1 Night Stand hook-up? As he nears his date, a long, lean man with shaggy, graying hair, a hard on pushing at the front of his swim trunks, and a sexy-as-hell grin, dreams pale in comparison, and easing in takes on a whole new meaning.
Though tired of being lonely, Matt considers changing his mind about the one-night arrangement until a tall, well-built man strolls across the pool area toward him, then all thoughts of leaving flee. Those broad shoulders, the amazing pecs, the spattering of dark hair on his chest…all of it calls to him. He wants to touch it, play with it. He forces himself to calm down. Matt would be his date’s first male lover, and he intends to find the inner strength to take his time.
Intense physical attraction and Madame Eve’s magic ignite a nearly uncontrollable sexual fire, but will it be enough for two men stating over?

A LOOK AT THEIR LIFE NOW:
Corbin was running late, again. It seemed like that was how he operated these days: too busy and always late. He drew in a steadying breath as he headed for the same private bungalow at the Caribbean resort where he’d first met Matt almost three years ago. His stomach rolled with nerves just as it had on that fateful day. He’d been about to face his first male lover.
That had been the craziest thing he’d ever done. He’d been so far out of his element, scared bone deep, and yet determined. He wasn’t out of familiar grounds now, but he was bone deep frightened again. He’d allowed far too much distance—emotionally and physically—to come between he and Matt over the last six months. It hadn’t been just life getting in the way. No, he’d let business almost take over his life. And he’d sensed that he was losing Matt.
As he put the key card in the slot, he tried to calm his pounding heart. He couldn’t afford to screw this up. But he still didn’t even know if Matt would come here. They hadn’t seen each other in nearly a month. When Matt had told him he was moving back to California temporarily because of business, Corbin had been too involved in a big project to give it much thought. Until Matt had emailed him to say he’d probably be staying longer than he’d planned. Finally, panic spiraling through him, he’d come up with this “second honeymoon” type plan.
What if Matt didn’t show up? What if….
When he heard the front door of the bungalow opening, a huge sense of relief rolled over Matt. Corbin had arrived, thank God. Even though his lover had sent him the tickets here as an out-of-the-blue surprise and left a somewhat cryptic email and voicemail, he’d wondered if Corbin’s plans would change. Too many other times they’d made plans over the last year something had come up. Matt had tried to be patient, to assure Corbin that it was always all right. In truth, it hadn’t been.
He sipped on the same fruity island drink he’d had on the day when he’d first met Corbin. Except he’d had the bartender put more alcohol in it this time. He’d needed the liquid courage, especially if….
But he didn’t need the drink now. He released the tense breath he’d been holding when he heard the rattle of the door handle. Yet he stood by the sliding doors to the patio, pulse racing, nervous. He wasn’t proud of himself, but he wanted Corbin to make the first step here.
Their gazes locked. Matt didn’t say a word. Actually, conversation of any kind wasn’t what Corbin was interested in at the moment. Particularly not with Matt waiting for him, standing there in nearly naked invitation. The black swim trunks he wore only added to Matt’s male perfection. They hid little, and Corbin knew exactly what they hid. All he wanted was to touch the man who owned his heart. It had been too long. His fault.
He closed the door, dropped his bag to the tiled floor, and strode across the living room. Heat, need, desperation sped through him. His cock pressed against the front of his slacks. When he noted the desire simmering in the depths of his lover’s eyes, he began lifting off his polo shirt.
Matt met Corbin halfway. Who took a “first step” no longer mattered. They would be okay again.

I hope you enjoyed this little look into Corbin and Matt’s life as it might be today. Too often we all get caught up in the whirlwind of life and begin to miss out on the magic of a loving relationship.

CONTEST: One lucky commenter will win a really fun “To Do” list and a small surprise. The winner will be chosen May 19th.

Keeping it Classy, and Sexy

By Leigh Ellwood

I am thrilled to be a part of the Decadent Publishing family! Today my story, A Different Class, is finally available to enjoy. I have read a number of 1Night Stand stories, and loved the idea of Madame Eve matching people for a night of fun and passion. It’s exciting to know I achieved one writing goal I set for myself – getting my 1NS published.
If you’re familiar with my work, you know I write a variety of genres and couplings. I write M/M, F/F, and everything in between. I tend to stick more with contemporary romances, and as I pondered ideas for a 1NS story I decided I wanted to keep it real. My inspiration for A Different Class came, of course, from the announcement of my own high school reunion (I won’t tell you which year, but I’ll say it’s double digits and leave it there – LOL). I had the itch to write another M/M, and one day I wondered what might happen if somebody with a grudge against his former classmates refused to attend his reunion…then wound up paired with somebody on the reunion committee by Madame Eve.
Awkward? Yes. Does it put a damper on the night? Not necessarily. I wrote Glenn and Roderick as two men who discover an instant attraction, and with the Florida heat helping them along you know they’re in for a long, steamy night! As for whether or not they’re able to get over past hardships…well, read A Different Class and find out!
I enjoyed writing this story so much, I started immediately on the follow-up story. My goal is to offer as many Class series stories as Decadent will stand - LOL. Presently I am halfway through the first draft of A Class Act, another M/M 1NS, while I consider ideas for a third story. I’m also batting around the idea of an MMF ménage, but I may wait on that to see how readers react. Of course, I’m open to other combinations as well – MMM especially. I find those are fun to write!

If you pick up A Different Class and enjoy it, please let me know. I always appreciate a kind word on Goodreads
You can also drop me a note via Twitter at @LeighEllwood. I respond when I can.
I also have a Facebook author page that you can follow for updates on new releases.

Thanks for stopping by. See you at the next 1Night Stand!

One Night Ride

I’m not an author who uses music when I write. Well, not to the point of having a playlist. But when I wrote One Night Ride, my music of choice was country (as it is with most of what I write). Rather than a playlist, I’ll share my top five country music artists right now!

Keith Urban – who sings Cop Car, the inspiration for Chad’s story! Stay tuned for more about Chad, you can meet him in One Night Ride.

Jake Owen – There’s not much by Jake I don’t love. I can’t pick just one song!  Beachin’ is a feel-good summertime song.

Brantley Gilbert – Especially Bottoms Up. It’s a fun song, what can I say!

Eric Church – He’s like Jake, I love everything. One of his more recent releases that I love is The Outsiders.

Luke Bryan – For one he’s a cutie. J Secondly, gotta love Country Girl (Shake it for Me)

One Night Ride

What Readers are saying:

The story is short, sweet, sexy, and very hot. I want MORE!! –Cathy/Reviewer

A nice, steamy short filled with muscle-bound, denim and boots wearing studs. Alphas on display! – 3 Chicks After Dark

Brett Colson’s ready to get back into the dating game. Competing in rodeos across the country kept him out of the game, so when he hears about the 1Night Stand service from a friend, he takes a chance.
Bull rider Jace Peterson lost his first love over a year before to another man. Hitting his thirtieth birthday, Jace listens to his friends’ concerns; he needs to end his self-imposed dry spell and enlist the help of Madame Eve.
Brett and Jace expect nothing more than a satisfying one-night ride. But they’re wrong.

Why a Historical…Why Now?

Why would a contemporary erotic romance writer dip her toe in the historical pond? Because it’s where she started. My very first book—SO UNPUBLISHED IT’S NOT FUNNY—is a historical. Not just a historical, but an 800-page epic, rambling mess of head-hopping, passive writing and every other newbie mistake you can think of piece of, amazing disk space. I can’t even look at it without cringing.

I have a list a mile long of books that I need to get written. Books promised, asked for, or just in queue. Yet this one, which should have been at the very bottom, not even to beeen seen until 2016 if I was lucky, just wouldn’t leave me alone. It came to me so passionately and quickly, with such need to be told that I had no choice but to comply. So I began to rediscover my love of history and of historical romances.

I love history, always have, even my ideal vacation is to historical destinations. In collage I studied Costume and Art history and spent hours in the V & A in London just sitting in front of their costume exhibit, sinking it all in. Little by little, that part of me started coming to the surface. Maybe it was my trip to Ireland or maybe just a need to remember my passions.
It’s funny when I first started writing I never believed I would write a contemporary. Once I was published, I never believed I would publish a historical. Lesson again about never say never.

Will Rowena and Duncan’s 800-page book one day see the light of day…I certainly won’t say never. Fortunately, Llysa and Wolfe's story has in...

The Duke & the Virgin

In a time when women have few options for their futures, bluestocking wallflower Llysa Hamilton has aged out of the marriage mart. With offers for her hand unlikely, she enlists Madame Eve’s 1Night Stand service to find the perfect man for one passionate night.

Wolfe Thane, Duke of Foxhaven, has never lacked for anything, but he’s bored with his entitled life. Winning a 1Night Stand voucher in a poker game appears to offer a perfect, commitment-free opportunity to add spice to his sex life.

Hiding behind a mask during her date with the duke offers Llysa anonymity and courage. Wolfe has never met a woman as intriguing and disingenuous.
Can true love be unmasked in just one night or will it be destined to stay on the shelf?

Where Are They Now?

by Wendy Burke

I was going through some files the other day and rereading some of my 1 Night Stand reviews. There seemed to be a bit of a theme – ‘I wish the story was longer,’ ‘I really want to know what happened to this couple,’ ‘a happy-for-now is great, but do they stay together?’

So, I thought to myself, maybe readers need a small update, as opposed to, at this moment, sitting down and writing an entire book of ‘what happened with?’

---Grace and Jake, The One He Chose: are happily married and busy! Grace volunteers her time as a nurse at a local medical clinic for the poor.  Jake was a Physical Education teacher and baseball coach for a local high school, but the Major League Baseball Network came calling and he’s now a part-time game analyst. Grace happily travels with him. Sometimes they look at each other and smile, knowing how much Grace’s late-husband, Ben, loved them both to make sure they were together. They visit with Grace’s brother, John, (see Bear It All) often.
---Bryn and Ian, Haste Ye Back: have bridged the miles between Scotland and Michigan. They’re together now in Ann Arbor, laying waste to Kelpie’s curse and finding immense joy in their ancient history together. Bryn works for an ad agency, and Ian plays in a Celtic band at The Fourth Base, owned by high-school friend, Martin Baird and his partner, Garret Fischer (see Accidentally Beautiful.)
---Abby and Casey, For Me: a few weeks after their 1 Night Stand in Charlevoix, the two met again when Casey (who refuses to take ‘no’ for an answer!) appeared at Abby’s front door, a dozen scarlet roses in hand. She nearly fainted, shocked the man she couldn’t see during their initial ‘date’ was much better looking than the photo which appeared on her cell phone when he called. Both consider themselves ‘too old’ to refer to themselves as ‘dating,’ but they catch up as often as possible when not busy with their demanding professions.

And, what’s next?  Stay tuned and find out!

Almost Paradise

Available HERE
By Jenna Jaxon

Over two and a half years ago, I wrote and published Almost Perfect, a 1Night Stand story set on a deserted beach in the Caribbean. I did my research and saw lots of pictures of beaches and islands in that region, but I never saw one until this week.

I’ve spent my spring break down here on St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, and I have to say, I have found the perfect setting if someone wanted to make a movie out of Almost Perfect: Magen’s Bay.

I’ve been walking the beach here almost every morning this week—two miles down and back with fellow author and friend Ella Quinn. Very much like Pam would have walked to get to Roger and that scrumptious dinner and the after dinner activities.

The water is clear, warm and feels like velvet. It’s not too rough, although there are some waves lapping against the shore. Unfortunately, this beach isn’t deserted, so no skinny dipping for us. Pam and Roger were more fortunate in that respect.

I’ve certainly enjoyed my little taste of paradise this week. It’s given me a new insight into tropical beaches and the pure enjoyment my couple must have shared on their 1Night Stand.

If you’d like to read their Caribbean romantic adventure, Almost Perfect is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Are, as well as other e-book retailers.

Here’s a little taste for you to enjoy:

Pamela Kimball’s birthday present, a 1Night Stand adventure, promises jump-start her life, put a new man in her bed, and help her forget her past. Unfortunately, movie-buff Pam’s Pirates of the Caribbean fantasy takes an alarming wrong turn when she’s abandoned on a not quite deserted island—with ex-husband Roger Ware.

Forced by hunger to accept Roger’s offer of dinner, Pam realizes the geek she married has transformed into one of the most charming, sexiest men she’s ever met. His newfound confidence—and hot body—re-kindles old fires. A simple kiss leads Roger to challenges her to discover how much his lovemaking skills have improved, leaving Pam torn between self-preservation and burning desire.
With time running out before they’re rescued, Pam must decide if her heart can survive the consequences of becoming Roger’s “almost” perfect 1Night Stand.
