One for the Ladies

By Jessica E. Subject
While Unknown Futures is not the first story I wrote an F/F love scene in, it is my first story where the two women end up together in the end.
When I decided to write Unknown Futures, it was originally supposed to be a sequel to Celestial Seduction, carrying on Carrie and Frey’s story. But it didn’t work. I couldn’t think of a plot that would work. Instead I made them minor characters in a new 1Night Stand story. I’d already written two, and wanted to try something different. The line has everything imaginable in terms of plots, but there weren’t any F/F romances at the time. I decided to challenge myself and have my next 1Night Stand story introduce two females looking for love. Challenge being the key word.
But then I thought to myself, I don’t have a penis. If there’s one thing I know, it’s my body. I know what I like, where I like to be touched, and what parts of love-making bring me the most pleasure. I don’t know what sensations men feel during sex, but I do for women. I don’t have to worry about the unknown penis, the unfamiliar male point of view. I can do this!
I have written more F/F stories since Unknown Futures and have been
involved in some events relating to Lesbian Fiction. Every January, KT Grant, a fellow Decadent author,  hosts the Lesbian Fiction Appreciation Event. Plus, Anastasia Vitsky, another Decadent author, hosts Love Spanks in February, where participating authors write a short F/F romance (which may or may not involve spanking) for readers to check out for FREE. There are all kinds of giveaways, too. So, if you have not ready any F/F stories, or have read only one that just didn’t float your boat, I hope you will check out these events the showcase a wide range of fiction with two heroines. You may find something you DO like.

Oh, and if you want to try out Unknown Futures, it’s only 99¢ for the month of January. Here’s an excerpt...

“Miss Jewel Barnaby?”
Her eyes darted toward the tall, austere man in surprise, nervous tension knotting her shoulders. She almost didn’t respond. No one had called her Jewel since she’d left the hospital two years ago. Instead they called her ugly, freak, or monster. The doctors had done all they could, but despite the several surgeries and multiple, painful skin grafts, everyone in Prescott, Ontario would always know her as the girl who was splashed in the face with acid on the biggest night of her teenage life.
They’d been in his garage, grabbing blankets for the after-prom party. When he’d tried to get fresh with her, she’d had to tell him, a jock through and through, she wouldn’t sleep with him, that she’d preferred women. But he didn’t take no for an answer. Pinned against his truck, her heart racing in panic, she kneed him in the groin. Doubled over, he’d grabbed sulfuric acid from a shelf behind him and splashed it in her face. Everything after that moment became a blur until she woke up in a hospital, groggy with painkillers, a tube stuck down her throat. She couldn’t see a thing with the bandages covering her eyes, but felt and heard her mother by her side.
From then on, some of her neighbors looked at her with disgust, sympathy, or fear. Others glanced away when she passed, as if she didn’t exist, including her old friends.
The chauffeur simply smiled at her as he reached for her two oversized suitcases. His professional, impassive demeanor calmed some of the butterflies dancing in her stomach.
Standing on the curb, she stared down the road, sure neighbors spied out their windows, wondering why a limo would be picking her up. I need a break from this place. As she slid over the leather seat of the Ford Excursion limousine, her stomach tightened. Madame Evangeline’s text had been brief. Pack for two weeks. The limo will meet you in front of your building in an hour. She’d had no time to do anything but change and throw clothes in a suitcase.
Until now. Had applying to 1Night Stand really been a good idea? She could end up with her date running away, screaming. And why had Madame Evangeline told her to pack for two weeks when her date was only supposed to last one night?

Sleepy Hollow for Sale

by Taryn Kincaid

Last October 23, semi-inspired by a whacky Bunny interview with hot-as-sin Bhyrne Raines, the fire demon hero of Heat Wave, I thought it would be fun to catch up with Bhyrne and his honey bunny (not to be confused with The Bunny of Decadent blog lore) and see what they were up to after the crazy breedspawn mating frenzy of Heat Wave had burned itself out. Call it an epilogue. I do so love me an epilogue.

Turns out The Bhyrne, now an ex-enforcer, and his succubus princess,
Zena, were living in connubial bliss in Sleepy Hollow. Imagine that. Well, except for that god-awful racket in the Hudson River. When we peek in on them in the October blog post, Bhyrne’s looking at an email his cousin Max (the redhot erotic artist hero of Frost) had sent him, which included a photo of a stranger who resembled Max…but was a dead ringer for Bhyrne. Leading him to wonder:  “What if I have a brother.”

So yeah. I kinda wondered, too. And what do you know, that October 21, 2013 1Night Stand blog post, became Chapter Two of In from the Cold.  Almost verbatim. And yeah, Bhyrne gets a brother:  Spook Raines, a secret agent demon who doesn’t know he’s a demon.
And who’s being hunted by demon-hunting will o’the wisp haunted by her past.
That would be the heroine, Geneviève Mortimer. Genny happens to be the best friend of the witchy Veronica Hardwicke, heroine of Thunder.

Man, I just love it when things work out like that!

In from the Cold is a standalone story, and you won’t miss anything if you haven’t read the others…but a lot of the other Sleepy Hollow series heroes and heroines pop in for cameo. And oh, yeah, Bunny gets a mention. The Bunny.

So just ’cause I’m funny that way, and I really don’t want you to feel left out or anything, leave me a scorching comment here and I’ll pick a random someone to get the Sleepy Hollow anthology. If you want to mention where you’d like to see the series go from here (if anywhere), that wouldn’t be bad, either.

PS ~ The other novellas in the Sleepy Hollow series are on sale for .99 at Amazon right now! If you haven't read the others, now's the time. It's such a good deal, it's practically stealing.

BLURB:
Spook Raines is a burnt-out spy who doesn’t know he’s a fire demon with a twin in Sleepy Hollow.
Geneviève Mortimer is a will o' the wisp who hunts demons to ease the pain of her troubled past.
When Madame Eve brings them together for a torrid 1Night Stand, will they be able to come in from the cold at last?

EXCERPT:
Geneviève Mortimer crept down the quiet hotel hallway, careful to bank her glow…at least for the moment. She’d sensed the presence of a demon on the floor, but something seemed off about the male’s aura. A weird lack of evil, like an impenetrable force field surrounded his consciousness, his psyche. As if he thought he were…human.
Had he been brainwashed? Drugged? Raised by gypsies? By wolves? Wait. No. Scratch that last one. She didn’t get the were vibe at all with this one.
No matter, as a will o’the wisp and a POLO, Protector of the Legion of Shadows, tasked with watching over humankind and keeping the unwary safe from visitors from the demon realms to the human plane, she lured the black-souled to their demise. Going all shine-a-light and sparkly until the evil ones fell under her spell and followed her anywhere. She needed to find this guy. Pounce first, beam a little hypnotic wattage, ask questions later. Take him out before he did any harm. To humans, or innocents like her parents.
She sniffed. Getting warmer. Closer to the demon’s room. What would she find behind his door?
Ignoring the do not disturb sign, she jiggled the handle. Locked. But the absence of a key card wouldn’t be a problem for her, not with her brand of talent and the magick lock picks in her pocket. She got the door open in seconds and slinked into the room, masking her radiance, keeping to the shadows.
Holy shit. The scent of male arousal filled the air. Delicious, decadent, sublime. Total man candy, like nothing she’d ever smelled before. Calling to her sweet tooth. Her horny core. So intense, an ache blossomed between her legs. She closed her eyes and inhaled. Whoa. She could orgasm from the erotic scent of the guy alone. Was the dude going through breedspawn? Were all the rumors she’d heard of the full-on crazy, demon male mating phase more than myth? She’d sure never encountered anything as powerfully sexy as this.
Cripes. This sort of thing never happened to her. I’m a demon hunter, damn it. She remained professional always, despite her ditzy, scatterbrained reputation. Did her job. And did it well. She’d fooled even her closest friends, those who didn’t know about her role as a POLOS and didn’t guess the half of it. Those who thought she slut-flitted around the world searching for mischief, adventure and, most of all, pleasure, like some sort of fickle, commitment-shy, well, yeah sure, okay, will o’the wisp.

Cat People

Available HERE

I’m a cat person, always have been. I’ve had both cats and dogs most of my life, but I’ve always had an affinity for the feline species. I love their independence. Owning a cat is slightly more a chore than owning a house plant. And when they want to cuddle then you feel super special for the attention.
Sure, my four dogs all but maul me with their loving excitement when I go outside for a few minutes then come back in. I might as well have taken a trip around the world. I love them for their undying loyalty and enthusiasm, but they also look completely put out when I’m not nearly as excited to see them. (Guys, seriously, I took the garbage out, CALM DOWN.)  Meanwhile, the cats eye me curiously, wondering if I’ve brought anything back of interest. If not, then it’s yawns and back to naps.
This is the type of person I am. Low maintenance and I value my independence.

Are you a dog or cat person? Leave a comment with email and you might win my F/F 1NS release, RescueMe!

Blurb:
When Abigail Winter’s stepsister sets her up with 1Night Stand, she can’t deny she needs a night away from the constant worry. Her cat rescue A Purrfect Home is in danger of closing, and she’s nearly out of options. Her date, Carlita, is gorgeous with soft curves that leave Abigail hungry for a taste. A perfect and passionate distraction for the evening.
Carlita Menedez is thrilled when she first lays eyes on her date, Abigail. Beautiful, and an animal lover, who more perfect for a former veterinarian? Her lithe form proves irresistible, and her kisses incredible. Their chemistry sizzles and when they come together, they find pure bliss in one another’s arms.
But disaster steals their night, and A Purrfect Home may already be lost. Will Carlita be the one person who can help Abigail save everything she’s worked so hard for?

 Excerpt:
Thunder boomed louder, jarring the windows, echoing her pounding heart. Carlita met her gaze and Abigail couldn’t resist reaching out and taking one of her ebony curls, letting the silken texture slip through her fingertips. The simple act did obscene things, a tight ache settled between her thighs. Abigail cupped the other woman’s cheek. “What do you think? Can two strangers like us have a passionate one night affair?”
Carlita’s tongue darted out, moistening her lips, her brown eyes smoldering. A tantalizing tease.
“I think it’s why we’re here, right?”
What an unsatisfying answer. She had to know for sure the other woman felt the same as she did. She stroked her thumb over Carlita’s bottom lip. “Do you want me?”
Carlita looked away and Abigail’s confidence faltered. What if the chemistry was one sided? God, it’d been years since she’d dated, and she’d never been good at reading body signals. To top it off, she was feeling pretty desperate; never a good thing while figuring someone else out. She took a deep breath, ready to back off. Carlita covered her hand with her own before she could pull away and moved the platter with the cheesecake to the nightstand.
“I want you to kiss me, Ab—”
Abigail moved before she could finish the sentence. Carlita’s lips were soft, yielding to the urgency of her kiss. She pulled her forward until Carlita straddled her thighs, the kiss deepening, their tongues meeting in foreplay. She tasted of chocolate, champagne, and desire, a delicious combination, and Abigail couldn’t get enough. Abigail stroked the smooth skin of her exposed back, feeling her muscles moving while Carlita worked the buttons on her blouse. When the other woman palmed Abigail’s breasts through her cotton bra, the heat within her bloodstream turned to liquid fire. She yanked the halter ties to Carlita’s dress, fumbling with the knot.
“Damn it.” The ties wouldn’t give. More than anything she wanted those incredible breasts free to bury her face between them. Live out one of the fantasies she’d been denied all night.
“Oh god, I’m sorry,” Carlita said as grabbed the ties, trying to help. “I didn’t want to fall out. I tightened it into a double knot.”
Abigail gave up and let her work the knot, taking advantage of having free hands.

Food and Romance

To me there’s something honest and romantic about a meal shared between two people who love each other. This philosophy could come from the chef in me or the fact that I’ve always appreciated good food. I relate food to happiness and comfort. So naturally all my books feature at least one scene involving the sensual addiction of something delicious. From the sweet to the savory nothing says I like to get it on then seductive tongue play with a bite of cheesecake or the slow lick of ranch dressing from a finger.
In my 1NS, What You Need, my dominant, Victoria, is more than happy to bribe Royce with tasty treats. She mentions everything from Philly cheesesteaks to peach cobbler. The final menu involves prime rib, fried pickles, and loaded baked potatoes. It’s carb overload, but Royce is definitely a meat and potatoes guy.
So my question would have to be, what’s your favorite romantic night meal? Do you enjoy steak in front of the fire? Or an Ahi Tuna Salad on a deck with a delicious glass of white wine as the sun sets?

What You Need
A sexual submissive, Royce wants a woman who’ll make his fantasies come true. The last thing he expects on his 1Night Stand is to be paired with Victoria, his ex-best friend.  Haunted by their past, he refuses to deny his newfound attraction or his need for answers.  This time, he doesn’t plan to let her go.
Victoria has loved Royce forever, but the sting of his rejection is not so easily forgotten. No longer the naïve girl he knew, she’s matured into a sexual dominant. This domme demands a chance to restart their relationship—on her terms. Knowing that one night will never be enough, she plans a seduction that will last forever.

Gotta Love the Guys with Rhythm

Everybody loves them some musicians.
Even if you’re one of those weird people who doesn’t like music, you cannot deny that there’s something undeniably hawt about musicians. Maybe you’re a lead singer lover. You love Billy Idol’s snarl, M. Shadows’ Texas twang, Chris Cornell’s pure sex voice. Okay that’s me. Or maybe you like the enigmatic lead guitarist like Slash or Mark Tremonti. Bassists? How about Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx or Hinder’s Mike Rodden?
Well, if you’re anything like me, you’re hot for the drummer.
I’ve always had a thing for drummers. Neil Pert? One of the best. Tommy Lee? Be still my Kickstarted Heart. Even Lars Ulrich before that whole Napster ordeal. For me, drummers are the backbone of the band, the keepers of the cadence, the primal glue that holds the music together. And then there’s all that aggression….

My super-big drummer crush right now is on Halestorm’s Arejay Hale. Granted, the guy is totally hot, but he is also a BEAST behind a kit. A BEAST.

SEE??? BEAST. There’s a reason his nickname is Animal…. *Drags mind from gutter* *Mind scrambles for purchase* Ty may not be a drummer, but he’s a hot-as-hell bassist and songwriter, and that’s more than enough for Claire. A romance author who needs to love….

Best-selling romance author Claire Ergleston confines her passions to the pages of her books. When she receives a 1Night Stand date ‘to give her something to talk about in interviews,’ can she let herself be swept away?

A rock star who needs to let go…. The past has a chokehold on former rock star Ty Krause. Instead of killer tunes, he kills time writing passable songs for a British boy band and his nights wishing he had the balls to say goodbye. In a last ditch effort, he signs up for 1Night Stand, thinking that a night of no-strings-attached sex will help him break the leash of his past.

From the moment Claire and Ty meet, sparks fly—but can they overcome their pasts or will their potential love story end on a sour note?

Second Skin

Available HERE

by Thea Landen
Most of us read fiction, I think, as a form of escape. I know I like to pretend my day didn’t just consist of running around at work and then coming home and trying not to overcook dinner. Even when I’m just curled up on the couch with my Kindle, I can live out the fantasy of doing whatever I want and being whoever I want to be. Tonight I can finish up that sultry romance, and tomorrow I can dive into a crime thriller (and live vicariously through the characters!).
But what if those sorts of changes weren’t optional? In my first 1Night Stand story, Second Skin, Anna has to constantly reinvent herself as a requirement of her job. A lifetime of pretending to be someone she’s not leaves her with very few opportunities for love. Good thing Madame Eve is available to lend a helping hand!

Blurb: Anna’s career as a high-level CIA operative is put on involuntary hiatus. When a trusted colleague passes along the information for the 1Night Stand service, Anna decides to take the plunge against her better judgment and seek some intimate company. But her CIA instincts can’t be ignored, and when she contacts Madame Eve, she uses an alias.
Brendan owns a lucrative manufacturing company, but he’s yet to achieve the goal of finding a woman with whom he can share his successes and joys. But beneath his polished, capable exterior hides the painfully shy teenager he’s never been able to escape. When his own efforts in the dating scene fall short, he turns to 1Night Stand.
It would be so easy to fall in love with Brendan, and Anna’s protective mask slides away, piece-by-piece, revealing more of herself than she should dare. Before she can slip away with the sunrise, Brendan shows their encounter in a new light. Will Anna take a chance on their future, or will she choose to return to her undercover, but lonely life?

Excerpt:
“It’s beautiful out here, isn’t it?” His breath danced across the tip of her ear.
“Mm-hmm.”
“Summers in this region are always nice, but they’re nothing compared to the autumn foliage,” he said. “Have you ever been up here during that time of year?”
Anna continued tracing idle lines from his wrist to his elbow. “No, I haven’t.”
His head dipped lower and his lips grazed her skin. “I realize it’s early for us, but I’d love to come back here with you. We could watch the changing colors, cuddle in front of a roaring fire….”
Anguish stabbed at her. The images he described sounded flawless and enticing. Every part of her yearned to agree to whatever he offered, but planning a rendezvous posed too much of a risk. She hadn’t predicted the difficulties of keeping up an ongoing charade with the man she met.
“That sounds lovely.” She swallowed hard and turned toward him. Her cheek rested in the crook of his neck, though its comfort did nothing to assuage her unexpected guilt over the upcoming lie. “Maybe we can work something out.”

Almost Paradise

Available HERE
By Jenna Jaxon

Over two and a half years ago, I wrote and published Almost Perfect, a 1Night Stand story set on a deserted beach in the Caribbean. I did my research and saw lots of pictures of beaches and islands in that region, but I never saw one until this week.

I’ve spent my spring break down here on St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, and I have to say, I have found the perfect setting if someone wanted to make a movie out of Almost Perfect: Magen’s Bay.

I’ve been walking the beach here almost every morning this week—two miles down and back with fellow author and friend Ella Quinn. Very much like Pam would have walked to get to Roger and that scrumptious dinner and the after dinner activities.

The water is clear, warm and feels like velvet. It’s not too rough, although there are some waves lapping against the shore. Unfortunately, this beach isn’t deserted, so no skinny dipping for us. Pam and Roger were more fortunate in that respect.

I’ve certainly enjoyed my little taste of paradise this week. It’s given me a new insight into tropical beaches and the pure enjoyment my couple must have shared on their 1Night Stand.

If you’d like to read their Caribbean romantic adventure, Almost Perfect is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Are, as well as other e-book retailers.

Here’s a little taste for you to enjoy:

Pamela Kimball’s birthday present, a 1Night Stand adventure, promises jump-start her life, put a new man in her bed, and help her forget her past. Unfortunately, movie-buff Pam’s Pirates of the Caribbean fantasy takes an alarming wrong turn when she’s abandoned on a not quite deserted island—with ex-husband Roger Ware.

Forced by hunger to accept Roger’s offer of dinner, Pam realizes the geek she married has transformed into one of the most charming, sexiest men she’s ever met. His newfound confidence—and hot body—re-kindles old fires. A simple kiss leads Roger to challenges her to discover how much his lovemaking skills have improved, leaving Pam torn between self-preservation and burning desire.
With time running out before they’re rescued, Pam must decide if her heart can survive the consequences of becoming Roger’s “almost” perfect 1Night Stand.

Bunny Does Satin Sheets

Today, 1 NightStanders, I have a big guest—no I really mean big. He stands at over seven feet tall and doesn’t even play basketball. Please help me extend a warm welcome to a tall drink of water, Galan.

*Leans forward in seat to study impressive man in hot seat*

So.... Tell us a little about yourself.

*Glances around* There’s not much to tell, except I’m not from around here. My brother and I travel from planet... I mean, place to place, visiting other cultures. Though, I came here, because I’m ready to settle down. From what I’ve read, Las Vegas isn’t the place one usually goes to settle down, but that’s where my date was set.

So are those feathers natural, or can a girl get them as extensions—in pink?

Feathers? *strokes his hair* Of course, they’re natural. Though, I can’t say I’ve seen any in pink that are natural. They’d have to be dyed, right?

Flamingos, silly. *Snorts* How did you hear about 1Night Stand?

From a friend of a friend. He recommended the service, and I thought I’d give it a try. Turns out Madame Eve really is magic.

A little birdie told me you traveled a great distance for your date. Was it everything you thought it would be?

Yes, a very far distance, and extremely worth it. I found the woman I’ve been looking for my entire life. And somehow, seeing her unconscious made my brother decide to settle down, too.

Is three a crowd? Just asking. I mean I’m certainly willing to keep your brother occupied, should you want a little alone time. No?

Three is not a crowd at all. I mean, my brother and I have shared women before, but Danyka is different. It’s about more than just sex with her. Though, we aren’t complaining in that area, either. Sorry, Bunny, but he’s given up that lifestyle, too.

We’ll do some quickies.

Favorite color? Red, like the dress Danyka wore when I met her.

How tall does she need to be to get on the ride?

Tall enough. But my definition of tall is a little skewed.

Lace or satin?

Satin, of course.

Blonde or redhead?

Redhead

Hmm. I’m sensing a theme here. *Snaps fingers and changes into a red dress* Do you have a big...ship?

Yes, my...ship is very big. *wink*

Oh, can you give me a ride? Your phone number?

The phones from where I’m from aren’t the same as on Earth.

Just in case I need to follow up, on this...interview. What are you doing later? Hey, come back here. We. Are. Not. Done. Don’t make me stalk you. Seriously. Please. Hey....

Well, I need to run. No, I mean I really need to run. Did you see the stride on that guy? You’d have to be an Olympic sprinter to keep up. For the full deets on the date, you can get the exclusive here:

Gavin speaks....

Strawberry Kisses available HERE

Thank you for coming to chat with us today. Why do you think Dominique chose  you to represent her today?  I think she is knee deep trying to work on another 1NS novel and needed someone to cover for her. I was happy to help.

Tell us a little about yourself? I am just a boring accountant, who was lucky enough to find (thanks to Madame Eve) my true love.

What’s your favorite music? I love Jazz I can think of nothing better than a weekend at the New Orleans Jazz festival.

Will we be seeing more of you or are you stepping out of the lime light? Luckily I think my story has been told but I hear Dominique is working on a possible epilogue to my story with Mia.

What do you do to relax? Lay on the sofa listening to music with a drink and Mia in my arms.

Tell us about Mia, what drew you to her? Mia is one of those women that just makes me go weak in the knees. She has curves that go on for days and she is comfortable with who she is. What’s not to love.

What’s your biggest turn on? Mia dressed, half dressed, naked… MIA.

What your favorite ice cream flavor, chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry? I have a great fondness for anything strawberry.

Why should the readers be interested in your story? It’s a story about finding the person you were meant to be with.

Strawberry Kisses

Are they ready to gamble on a 1Night Stand?

Mia hides behind her computer, designing popular computer games. And though she knows just what to do to keep men coming back for more on the other end of the modem, she doesn’t seem to have the same knack in person.

Gavin hides behind numbers. Since his wife left him, the only thing he cares about is his son and his job. One failed relationship was enough, but if the right curvaceous woman came into the picture he just might manipulate the numbers a bit.

Can two meddling sisters enlist Madame Eve to bring Mia and Gavin together and show them two is always better than one?

Dominique Eastwick grew up a US Navy Brat, so if there was a Naval base that was probably home. She currently resides in North Carolina with her husband, two children, crazy lab and lazy cat.
Dominique's love of reading started when she was told to read TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD in high school. It’s the book that opened her eyes to the joys of reading and entering into the world of the author. To this day she ranks this book as her favorite.
When not writing you can find Dominique behind the lens of her camera, doing her second love.
