Wyk's Surrender

By Dakota Trace

So recently, well about six months ago, I was talking to my editor about the books I had planned to write this summer. (Or attempted to write, due to the kidlets being out of school). During the conversation, she’d asked if I was ever going to give my 1NS couple from Blind Need, Xaviera and Nate, another story…or at least check in with them.  I, of course, was stumped. I fell in love with my blind heiress and her hunky smoke-jumper, but I wasn’t sure where else to take their story or how continued it within the constraints of the 1NS series. So when I posted to the blog in February, I wrote an article about what happens after the 1Night Stand and about readers wanting to know more about what happened to the characters. I got several answers to that questions from other helpful 1NS authors and a few of the readers.

It did get me to thinking and I finally managed to answer that question. When I penned my most recent contribution for the 1NS line, Wyk’s Surrender, Xaviera and Nate along with Lucy managed to sneak their way into my story. Xaviera appears as the cousin of Venus Spinazzola-Navarro, my heroine.  While they may be cousins, they are quite different.  Not only is Xaviera a wine heiress, she grew up in sunny California, while Venus grew up on the streets of the Windy city and is an executive assistant to a department head of a lucrative firm in Chicago. While Xaviera was a bit of recluse, Venus is in your face, dares to tread where only angels dare and isn’t afraid of her size or sexuality. (And yes, she’s a what most consider to be BBW.) Because of her uniqueness it was a great fun to write Venus’s story.  Like her cousin, Venus has a take charge attitude and has no issue standing on her own two feet, or holding her own against her boss.  Which is probably why she’s a FemDom.

But speaking of her boss, Chadwyk, or Wyk as he prefers to be called, was a challenge to write, and why? Well because Wyk, the epitome of a successful black businessman, kept whispering in my ear how he wanted to explore his sexually submissive fantasies with his assistant. Talk about a real eye opener.  So not only did I have a strong female character…who was a FemDom, I had a strong alpha male in the boardroom who wanted to submit.  Sounds like a match made in heaven, right? One would think.  But of course my muse, Livvy, had to make it difficult for me.  She decided that I just couldn’t give them a straight forward story – you know Venus walking into Wyk’s office for a little afternoon delight. No they both had to have reasons why they couldn’t give into their obvious desire – the same reasons Madame Eve had to step in and arrange their…date and a reason to head out to Vegas.

Well, that’s how Xaviera and Nate snuck in.  I won’t spill the beans about why Venus is meeting her cousin and sexy man in Vegas…or even why or how Wyk ends up in Vegas at the same time but needless to say…in the city of love…anything is possible. Even a chance to believe the impossible can happen.

What to do in just 1 Night

By Stephanie Beck
For the most part, I get stuff done. Usually pretty efficiently, at a reasonable price and it just might have glitter on it. Except laundry and dishes—those things are done at a rate that won’t make me crazy and I stopped adding glitter when my husband complained.

So, the thought of one crazy night meant for anything or everything brings up loads of possibilities. I love that the 1NS series brings so many possibilities with so many back stories to one great place led by the oh so wise Madam Eve. What would I do with what I thought was just *one night*?

Oh man...the possibilities. I’m thinking good food, yummy drinks, fun atmosphere, maybe a little shopping—where sparkly things would need to be bought. That would handle things until about, oh, 8:30 ish. From there, with new sparkles on, maybe there would be an art museum visit, some bowling, a stop for ice cream, a late night pedicure. Another stop for drinks—something distinguished this time (you know, like a brandy alexander) where there is a piano player keeping things swanky. So, figure that would take us to near midnight. Then, if my nature held true, I’d be asleep in the passenger seat on the drive home.

Obviously my 1NS night would be far too busy for anything too sexy and I’d be too tired anyway—and my loving husband would totally expect that. He’s a good fella. Thank goodness for the 1NS series—where all the exciting things happen!

What would you add to your perfect 1NS evening out? More glitter? More baseball?

My Babies...

By Wendy Burke
I don’t have children, so between my husband, the cats and my stories – the latter two are my ‘babies.’
And, I’m learning that ‘babies’ grow up and move out of the house.
But, thankfully, the fine folks at Decadent Publishing want to keep my first two ‘children’ out front in the public eye.

Respite (the first child) and The One He Chose (kid #2) are part of the Buy a Book, Win a Nook promotion and my first two published works are only a BUCK during this promotion.
So, what could be better – two great stories for a buck each and a chance to add to your electronic gadget collection – it’s a win-win all around!
While the first two children have left the nest, their two siblings are just about ready to graduation ‘high school.’
HasteYe Back is an ode to my dear friends in Scotland and its soul was born while sitting on a stump at Loch Lomond, then sipping an Irn-Bru at the Drover’s.
Wise Men Say – well, eventually I had to work my hometown, Sheboygan, Wisconsin into a story or I wouldn’t be able to live with myself.
So, while those two are busy with extra-curricular activities, my ‘fifth child’ is in grad school taking advanced classes. For Me, will graduate this fall.
And gosh darnit, my imagination is pregnant again. Like it always is!  I’ll let you know what gets spit out next!

When not playing with the people in her head, Wendy has a silly life working in TV and radio. She shares her clean, yet perpetually dusty hovel with her her way-too-cute chef husband and two furry feline kids. She's proud to be a displaced Cheesehead, now living in Cpl. Maxwell Klinger's hometown.
Find her on Facebook, Twitter (@WendyBurke1994) or send her a nasty email (wendyburke1994@bex.net) to which she will promptly respond!
The four books above are available through Decadent Publishing and all reputable e-book distributors. Her fifth book, 'For Me,' another 1NightStand story through Decadent Publishing is due out this fall.

Making Sex Fun with Food

Buy Another Night, Another Planet HERE

Hello everyone! I’m Jessica E. Subject. For those who don’t know me yet, I’m the author of several science fiction romance and contemporary romance stories, ranging from sweet to erotica.
In my story, Another Night, Another Planet, Nate uses food to enhance Ava’s and his sexual pleasure. So, I thought I’d list some of the common and creative foods that can be used during foreplay.

Here is a list of those mentioned on Askmen.com:
Fruit – Make sure it is washed and peeled. Prepare it as you would to eat it, and use bite-sized pieces.
Whipped Cream – This can be a lot of fun on sensitive areas, including nipples and the tip of the cock. Be sure to wash the area off after, as dairy products can leave an unpleasant odor.
Syrups – Chocolate, caramel, strawberry. Add some whip cream and a cherry for extra fun.
Chocolate – Use a piece in your mouth while licking your lover’s body. Or you can melt it then use it to draw on your lover.
Popsicles – I think you know what to do with them. So much fun!
And Cosmopolitan mentions some other fun ideas:
Candy necklaces – Wear around your thigh and have your lover eat it off you.
Sour belts or licorice – Use it to whip each other’s butts.
Candy buttons – Add them to the places you want your lover to pay extra attention to.
Now, I’ve tried some of these, but now I’m inspired to try even more. And here’s an excerpt from Another Night, Another Planet showing food play:
Setting a chunk of fruit between his teeth, [Nate] captured her lips again. Their tongues darted around the juicy flesh until he swallowed it down. He licked a trail of sweet nectar down her neck. Gods, he’d missed [Ava].
Pinching one of the flaky pastries, he wiped its cream onto her pert, rosy nipples. Hunger and lust pulsed through him, but under it all, something more. More than want. He needed her. Always had. He refused to walk away from her again. Tonight was about more than pleasure, a one-night stand. Somehow, he had to convince her to never return to Earth, to stay with him. An impossible task. But he had to try.
He licked the sugary cream from her erect peaks, swirling his tongue around each before sucking it all off. Absolutely divine. She moaned, bucking against him. So much for getting to know each other again. But if he had his way, they’d have plenty of time to catch up after the evening ended. He had to remind her of what they’d once had.
Spreading open her legs, he grabbed another piece of fruit. He squeezed its juices over her already slick folds, lapping the sweet flavors together. The taste of pure decadence, a heady combination of sweetness and sex, left him starving for more. Swirling his tongue, he savored her alluring taste. Her high-pitched keening resonating through the room, she gripped his shoulders, pushing her pelvis closer. Anxious to have her screaming his name, he plunged two fingers inside her velvet core, focusing his ministrations on her clit.

Tell me: What types of food do you think work best during foreplay?

The Fairy Tale

Buy Wishing for Love HERE

By Denise McCray
Today, one of my sorority sisters posted on Facebook that although she may appear self-sufficient, she still wanted that fairy tale ending, you know, the man who’d sweep her off her feet and her happily ever after. I responded by telling her he was out there looking for her and she agreed, but wished he would speed it up!
As a middle-aged female, I’ve had the opportunity to experience first- hand the up/downs, happiness/sadness, and just boring parts of love and marriage. My husband and I have known each other for thirty-three years and married for a little over thirty. Would I change anything about our life together? Sure, plenty! But would I choose another mate? No. He’s my soulmate, the man God/The Creator/The Universe chose for me.
I met him on the campus of Howard University, our alma mater. Let me correct that. I first noticed him in the grocery store near the dormitory we lived in. He’d seen me around, but never approached me before then. Well, one thing led to another and we fell in love. When we graduated, he went home and so did I. Within a few months, he found a job in the same area I was attending law school, and we married soon thereafter.
Love has this funny way of making things work out, despite the obstacles in your way. Here’s an excerpt from my 1NS novella, Wishing for Love. Check out the whole story and see how Luvenia and Marcus find their happily ever after.

 Love,
Denise

“Ms. Spells?”
Veni quickly opened her eyes and tried to look wide-awake. A bellman stood before her with a bemused look on his face.
Awkwardly righting herself in the chair, Veni responded with a noise somewhere between a grunt and a snort. Real classy, Veni. The poor man struggled to maintain a professional expression, but could not hold it together and allowed a wide grin to split his face. “Your room is now ready,” he said holding out her key cards.
All but snatching them from his grasp, Veni dug into her bag for a few dollar bills and shoved them into his direction, making sure to avoid eye contact with him. Only after he pivoted on his heels and strode away did she dare to look up from the floor. When she did, her gaze settled on what had to be the most gorgeous man on earth and the star of her erotic dream!
He stood in line at the registration desk with an I-am-the-man air about him. At a minimum, he was at least six-four tall and had a runner’s body with a cute little behind obviously created for a woman to touch. That’s how she liked her men, long and lean, and mama surely liked what she saw. Suddenly his head turned in her direction and a smile, which she could only describe as predatory, appeared on his face. Busted!

Finding Balance in BDSM

Buy The Perfect Sub HERE
By Jayson Locke

While writing The Perfect Sub I found myself thinking about balance. My submissive hero, Drew, isn’t submissive in every area of his life. He owns his own business. He hasn’t let his family’s rejection of him for being gay stop him from being a success. Drew balances the part of his life where he has to be in control with the parts of his life where he gives up all control to his Dominant. And his Dominant, Holt, doesn’t mind this at all.

I’ve read many books where the submissive gives up control of his entire life to his Dominant. I’ve read many books where the D/s dynamic is solely in the bedroom. The Perfect Sub lies somewhere in between. And from what I’ve seen and read of couples in the leather community, every level of D/s you can imagine exists. Part of what makes this community and lifestyle so attractive is its flexibility, its ability to be whatever each person needs. All you have to do is find a partner whose needs match yours.

Striking that balance in a book means that the author must delve into the psyche of each main character. Drew is in control of his business life. When he comes home, he wants to give up that control to his Dominant. He doesn’t want to be the decision maker. He enjoys following orders and pleasing his lover. Letting go of his control, giving it to another person is how he finds enjoyment in life. It is also how he gets off.

Holt, on the other hand, has a deep seated need to always be in control. As a fireman he understands the value of control. It helps him do his job and helps him save lives. In his relationship with Drew he thrives on making sure Drew has what he needs at all times. Every order he gives Drew is calculated to give his submissive pleasure whether it’s the simple pleasure of cooking a meal his Dominant enjoys or the pleasure of being bound and tied to a spanking bench.

Now, much of what I just wrote is about the relationship Drew and Holt build together off screen. You see it in action only in the epilogue. The meat of ThePerfect Sub is the 1Night Stand where Drew and Holt finally get together and the truth of their feelings for each other come to light. Madame Eve forces them together and that leads to them facing what has simmered between them unspoken and not acted upon for a year.

An author needs to show the reader why each character is who he is and when you write in the world of BDSM, the characters need to ring true. The motivations behind their behaviors must ring true. If they do not, readers don’t identify with them and they end up not liking the book. I’m sure some readers don’t like Drew because he lied for a year to get something he wanted. He forced himself to be perfect in order to win Holt. That’s some pretty selfish behavior. I’m also equally sure that some readers won’t like Holt because he saw something he wanted and didn’t go after it. Someone will think that’s not very Dominant behavior.

Finding and creating the balance in a BDSM story is imperative. Probably more so than in a non-kinky romance. There are elements at work in a BDSM story that the author has to incorporate and explain in a way that the reader understands without info-dumping. When it’s done right, readers come away with the sense that they know the characters.

That’s what I strived for with The Perfect Sub. Even in a short novella like this one, I wanted the readers to understand Drew and Holt, understand why they wanted each other and what they needed to do to make their relationship work.

If you’ve read my book, I welcome your comments about it. If you haven’t read ThePerfect Sub, let me know in comments and tell me who your favorite BDSM authors are. I’ll enter you into a drawing to win a copy of The Perfect Sub. The contest is open until midnight Eastern time on June 2nd. On June 3rd, I’ll post a winner in comments.

Thank you for coming by to read my blog post. Have a kinky day!

Why Roses?

By C.R. Moss

I’ve been asked why I use a rose in my Sunset books for when the 1NS dates first meet. Well, to answer that question, here’s a list of reasons…
Well, for one… For ages, roses and their colors have been steeped in tradition and meaning. Take for example a red rose. Most people associate that color with beauty, love and passion. A white rose represents innocence and purity which is probably why it’s a popular color for weddings. The roses used in the Sunset books are sunset colored. Imagine fiery colors – yellow (friendship, joy, gladness and freedom, the promise of a new beginning); red; orange (Passionate desire, pure enthusiasm and fascination –

This site: www.loveletterbox.com says it’s “An excellent choice for a new relationship that you wish to pursue further.”); white; pink (Grace and Gentility, the rose of sweet thoughts).
Secondly… Did you know that even the number of roses you give or receive means something? For instance, 15 roses means “I am truly sorry, please forgive me,” and 24 roses means “Can't stop thinking about you, 24 hours every day.” (The above link has a table to refer to for more quantities.) In my 1NightStand stories, each character only has one rose which signifies ‘Love at the first sight; you are the one.’

Reason three… Having a rose in possession when meeting someone you’ve never seen before is classic.

A fourth reason… My characters use the sunset colored rose as a family symbol. To learn why, you’ll have to read my books. ;)

And, a fifth reason… It’s my nod to an old group of friends that I met via an online support site for people who quit smoking. They all liked to garden and grow roses. To celebrate our milestones in our quest to stay smoke-free, we’d find roses or other flowers that suited that particular day or emotion for us and then share what we found. (I’ve been smoke-free for over ten years now. Quit cold turkey.)

My favorite rose? The Osiria Rose. It’s deep red from the inside, and from outside, it’s silver- white in color, giving the flower a two tone color scheme. If you do an online search for that rose, you can find images of it. It’s like the tips of a white rose were dipped in blood, then dried to achieve the rich darkness of the red. Quite lovely.

So dear readers, do you have a favorite rose or other flower?

Want to find out about the family and the rose they use? Check out my new release, Sunset Temptations.
