Top Ten Favorite Everything He Wants Quotes!

By Megan Slayer

I thought I’d do something a little different this time around. In the spirit of David Letterman’s Top Ten List, I wanted to share my top ten favorite quotes from Everything He Wants.

10. “You’re not turned off? The tats, the piercing, the crazy-ass hair doesn’t bother you? My past isn’t stellar and I’ve made some stupid decisions. I’m clean, but not sparkling clean.” ~ Jeremy
9. Damn, there was so much more to the man than he’d expected. ~ Trace
8. “You can’t do the single thing forever.” ~ Joya
7. Jeremy’s eyes widened. “Most guys think I’m a freak or they want money. You haven’t even asked about my tats.”
6. “I’m here to meet my destiny.” ~ Jeremy
5. Trace liked a man with confidence, but in Jeremy he also sensed unleashed passion, fury and fear battling within.
4. Dressed in casual wear, Trace personified sex.
3. “But you’re not a mistake. You’re just what I wanted.” ~ Trace
2. “You don’t have to keep the shields up. I’m not like the other guys.” ~ Jeremy
1. “You’re a treasure,” Trace murmured, his voice a soothing rumble. “Flawed, sexy, and just who I want.”
What do you like best about the series? Which quotes were your favorites? Let me know. J

Here’s a little more about my story, Everything He Wants:

1Night Stand
Everything He Wants
by Megan Slayer

Trace has almost everything he wants—a great job and a well-ordered life, but he’s ready for more—the right guy to share it with. A chance meeting after a hockey game with the man of his dreams spurs him on to turn to the one source he knows will help him out—Madame Eve’s 1Night Stand service.
Jeremy can’t forget the difficult childhood and subsequent bad decisions he made while trying to forget it. He wants the gorgeous air traffic controller, but he’s afraid his past will get in the way like it always does. If all Madame Eve can give them is one night…he’ll take it.
With Madame Eve’s help, can the men forge the relationship they both want, or will they crash and burn?

About the Author:
When she's not writing the stories in her head, Megan Slayer can be found luxuriating in her hot tub with her two vampire Cabana boys, Luke and Jeremy. She has the tendency to run a tad too far with her muse, so she has to hide in the head of her alter ego, but the boys don't seem to mind.
When she’s not obsessing over her whip collection, she can be found picking up her kidlet from school. She enjoys writing in all genres, but writing about men in love suits her fancy best. The cabana boys are willing to serve, unless she needs them. She always need them. So be nice to Javier or he will bite--on command.

High in the Sky

There is something sexy about a pilot. Don’t you think? Consider Top Gun. Okay, so Tom Cruise isn’t my favorite, but there was a certain innate hotness about those suits. Plus, I loved Goose. The suit, in my humble opinion, is very sexy and on the right guy…le sigh. I married a pilot, so I know about this firsthand. Insert wicked grin.
There were many things that went into my 1NS story, One More Night, but among them was the idea of writing a hunky pilot. Pilots deal with a lot of stress and danger, no matter which aircraft they’re in. Little planes can be just as tricky as bigger ones. Drake’s experience with a smaller plane is what makes him a tad bitter by the time One More Night comes around.
I wanted to redeem this guy. I knew there was more to his story than just an accident and a lost love. Drake was definitely a motivating factor. If he gets his HEA, then I’m happy, too.
One More Night is definitely a redemptive story. But that’s my opinion. I want to know yours. What did you think? Haven’t read the book? Then comment and you could win a copy. J
Besides, I love hearing from my readers. Makes my day. Now, to make yours, here’s a little bit about One More Night:

Fear can blind. Will love show the way in the dark? All it takes is one more night...

When the love of his life slipped through his fingers, Drake hated to let her go. A near-death accident prevented him from going after her. But after three years of recovery and waiting, he’s ready to take back what’s his, and he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her from running again.

Why One Night?

By Wendi Zwaduk
You’ve seen the series, 1Night Stand. You’ve probably read a few of the stories. But have you ever wondered why an author might want to write a story that takes place in the space of one night? Wouldn’t it be hard? What about the character chemistry? Will they have a spark and what if they’ve never met before? Besides, the stories are short—how can the author really stretch out 24 hours? Or why didn’t the author shorten the story down?
I thought I’d answer a few of these questions—at least for my story, One More Night. I love to hear the reasoning behind an author’s work, so I’m going to share mine with you.
Why would I want to write a story taking place in the space of one night? This has to depend on the characters. Some seem to click really quickly. Others take more time to develop. For Jenna and Drake, my characters, they’d already had a relationship, so getting together in one night wasn’t completely impossible.
Is it hard to write something that short? Sure! Jenna and Drake had a past, but it didn’t turn out the way they wanted. There was no guarantee they’d make it work a second time and, yes, writing something that happens in 24 hours is hard. There’s a lot to pack into the story, but only so much room. As for the spark, Jenna and Drake had already been together.
Maybe that was me taking the easy route. My characters already had a past. They’d found a spark, but something blew it out. They talked to me and said they wanted to try again. “Give me one more night and I know we can make this work.” Who was I to tell them no? Once I had Madame Eve on board, it was smooth skies…well, as smooth as can be with a second chance romance.

And now a short excerpt for your enjoyment:
“You bring out the bad girl in me. I forgot how much I liked it.”
If he shoved her panties to the side, she’d let him grope her there in the reception room. He resisted the urge to go too far and moved her dress to repair her modesty. “You’re good at being bad.” With the pads of his fingers, he stroked down the length of her leg and caressed her ankle. The crimson polish on her toes glittered in the fluorescent light. “You always did like bare feet.”
Her voice dropped to the husky purr he hadn’t heard in a long time. “My stilettos pinched my toes. Bare is more comfortable.”
“I’m glad you came back.” The old feelings welled in his brain, reminding him how he hadn’t stopped loving her. Ever. “You aren’t the same girl who walked out of here three years ago. Not really. I want to discover all the ways you’ve grown.”
“You’ve changed, too.” The husky tone of her voice trailed up his spine. Jenna traced the line of his lapel with her finger. “More poetic, less gruff. And you shaved.” For the first time since she’d set foot on the tarmac, she smiled. “I like the changes. They work on you.” She murmured in his ear, “I wouldn’t have stopped you if you kept going.”

Writing What You Know...

 by Wendi Zwaduk

Authors have an interesting challenge when crafting characters for books. We’re suggested to write about what we know. It’s easier, so it’s said, because we don’t have to do much research and can say we understand the mind frame of the character because we’ve been there. That’s all good in theory, but what if the character is something the writer isn’t? Say, the character might be a mass murderer...the author probably isn’t. Or better yet, if the writer is a woman, one could make the argument that she can’t write well from the man’s perspective.
My husband flies planes, so naturally, I write about pilots and air traffic controllers. The airport in One More Night is based on an airport I’ve flown into many a time and have hung out there to get information. I’ve watched the guys running down the tarmac to get to the planes for refueling. I’ve ridden in those scary big trucks and wondered how the heck the planes manage to get stopped on that seemingly short runway.
The planes I’ve used in the story are ones I’ve ridden in, too.

By GerardvdSchaaf

But then I like to write about what I know. It’s fun. What about you, do you like reading about places you’ve been and things you’ve done or do you like the fantasy and mystery of places you’ve never been to? I’d love to know! A copy of One More Night is up for grabs to one lucky commenter!

The Bright Lights of Vegas

When I sat down to write Everything He Wants, I wasn’t sure where the story would be set. I had a vague idea of a club, dancing, meeting and grinding, but where this would all happen was beyond me. To get the idea flowing, I let it go for a while. I didn’t rush it, but rather let it percolate. Some of the best ideas come from simply letting them happen for a while first.  So...I did.
I worked on another story and kept coming back to pictures of Vegas. Actually, pretty much everything led me to Vegas. I wanted an artist enclave where the artist has free reign. Now I understand that doesn’t automatically make one think of Vegas. New York comes to mind, too.

I like Vegas and I like air traffic controllers, too. I wanted to put them together. To do that, I had to research air traffic control centers. There just happens to be one right outside Vegas. I talked to controllers and learned what made them tick as well as what absolutely crazy hours they work. These guys and gals are working when most everyone else isn’t. Night time, holidays...the planes keep flying and someone has to make sure they get wherever they need to go.

Then there’s the artist. He’s a painter by trade and due to his work with the hotel, he’s got a place to stay. Seems like it might be too impossible? It’s not. Fair trade. He gets a cut on rent or a better price to buy the suite in return for art being created for the hotel.  He’s happy with his life, but he wants more out of that life.
So what happens to get these two guys together? Plenty, but it all starts at a club.
Want to follow their story? Then you’ll have to read Everything He Wants, a One Night Stand story. Here’s more:

Everything He Wants and So Close

When I write, I like to write stories of second chances. Everyone has those missed connections and false starts that we wonder about. What might have happened if I turned left instead of right or jumped instead of running away? I have.
Trace and Jeremy have, too. They had a one-time meeting and never forgot about each other. Enter Madame Eve. She’s known for working miracles. All they want is to get past the bad decisions they’ve made before meeting and find a future that could happen together.
Trace is an air traffic controller. He needs order and all the facts. He hasn’t been able to wrap his mind around the meeting with Jeremy. They clicked and yet, they never quite found each other again. He’s hoping Madame Eve is the right choice for finding his forever.
Jeremy, an artist, likes the flourish of color and a good story. He’s also hot for Trace. He’s got a lot of baggage in his past and it’s not the easiest to deal with. If he can heal, he can move forward. If Trace factors into that healing, then even better.
Want to know if these two men find a happily ever after together? Then you’ll have to read Everything He Wants. J
Here’s a little more about the book:

With Eve’s help, can the men forge the relationship they both want, or will they crash and burn?

And a hot excerpt...because I can!

Jeremy sat in the back seat of the cab and swayed forward as it came to a quick stop opposite Club Ramrod. What a crazy name for a club. Then again, what a crazy place to meet his date. He checked the messages on his phone one more time. Sure enough, the same email from Madame Eve popped up.
Your date awaits you at Club Ramrod, located next to the Mason Players Club Hotel. Look for yellow by the bar and you will find your heart’s delight. Tell the bouncer Eve sent you.
He sighed and paid the driver with a shaky hand. His mind wouldn’t stop racing. What the hell did I get myself into? Sure, the club scene worked for him, but he hated the grind. Hated the clawing bodies and hangers-on. Crossing the street, he took his place in line. Maybe no one would recognize him. Finally reaching the club entrance, he dropped Madame Eve’s name to the bouncer.
The hulking man nodded and shuffled him to the bar. “Don’t cause a fight.”
Don’t cause a fight? Did he look like the type to cause trouble? Well, I did change my hair from green to blue tips. Jeremy snorted. Whatever. He scanned the crowd in the massive black and white bar. Men talked and laughed, some cuddled each other or sat on each other’s laps. At the far end, he spotted a flash of yellow. His heart pounded faster and his mouth went bone-dry.
“No way,” he murmured, nibbling on his lip piercing.
Trace Robeson, the man who featured in every one of his naughty fantasies, clutched a beer and hooked his thumb in his jeans front pocket. The man oozed classy sex. A faded T-shirt cradled his body like a second skin, giving teasing glimpses at the chiseled flesh underneath. His ripped jeans cupped and outlined his package and showed off his natural tan to a T.
Jeremy wobbled on his feet and thanked the gods, or Madame Eve, or whoever, for granting him his wish, and strode across the club. Making eye contact with Trace, he grinned.
“Hey, man. Good seeing you here.” Trace offered his hand.
“Yeah. It’s nice to see a friendly face.” Jeremy gestured the bartender for a beer. “I’m here to meet my destiny.”
“Are you....” Trace didn’t finish.
“Your date?” Jeremy replied. “I’m looking for a man in yellow. Don’t see too many others rocking that color, so….” Christ, he sounded so lame.
“I was told my date would find me.” Trace matched his smile. “Want to dance?”

One More Night Can Change Everything

Have you ever wondered about a decision you made in the past? Ever thought, what if? That’s the premise of One More Night. One night to see if the sins of the past can be changed and improved. Jenna and Drake are both wounded souls, but need that little push to find out if they can overcome what happened and move forward.
Who is Jenna? Who is Drake? Jenna is a simple girl trying to find her way in the world. She’s been through some bumps along the way and never quite learned to deal with the repercussions of her decisions. She comes into the story a tad immature, but it’s the journey that can help her heal. Will she heal?
What about Drake? He’s a pilot who can’t fly. A freak accident in one of his beloved planes injured his leg and made it almost impossible for him to fly. He’s going to get back into the plane and the friendly skies. Will he be able the make the turn and embrace his future, especially if it means getting Jenna back in his arms?
You’ll have to read One More Night and find out what happens next. J
